Pet care experience
I've been trusted to take care of the animals around me (mainly dogs and cats) off and on since high school (around 10 years). My first gig was sophomore year of high school, where I cared for my neighbor's two small senior dogs while they were on vacation. I had a long list of medications and feeding instructions that I had to keep track of for them, which has proven to be great experience for every pet I've cared for after. It also shaped me to be mindful and intuitive of all the unique needs that animals have, and instilled the value of being the best advocate and caregiver for these sweet animals that rely solely on us for care.

Sarah is the sweetest! She watched our 5 month old pup, who is definitely in the crazy puppy phase, and she did an amazing job!!! We came home to a very clean home and a happy pup. She communicated very well and sent us pictures and updates throughout our trip which we really appreciated. We will definitely be hiring her again!
Sarah is absolutely THE BEST -- we cannot overstate how amazing she is, in all realms. We have a 14 year old puggle who is extra particular, and Sarah goes above and beyond to ensure he is perfectly cared for at all times! We've had several dog sitters, and no one is as thoughtful, sincere, trustworthy, loving, or hardworking as Sarah. She also goes above and beyond to ensure our house is perfectly clean before we return (even doing laundry and leaving sweet treats for us). We were able to enjoy our trips away from home knowing that our dog was in the best hands. And it was a pleasure to return to such a welcoming place, with a happy pup and a tidy place, all thanks to Sarah. We cannot recommend her strongly enough!
Sarah was absolutely amazing with our puppy! He is a nine month old golden retriever who loves to play - Sarah and him became fast friends. We will absolutely be using Sarah for future dog sitting!

When working with other people's animals, my experience lies solely in working in their own homes. I have found that even when the animal's loved ones leave, and someone unfamiliar enters their home, they build trust faster and seem more comfortable simply because they're still in their safe space. Upon arrival, I'm gentle and welcoming while the animal is assessing me for the first time, and we take things at their speed and level of trust. Usually we warm up to each other pretty quickly! With dogs I like to take lots of walks and get them outside as often as I can (depending on their age and activity levels, of course), and with cats I try to play with them as much as they'll let me. Also, if I'm given detailed instructions of the animal's routine, I stick to that so that I can keep things as normal as possible for them while they wait for their people to come back home.

I'm all about the details, so the more information you can give me, the better! Like I mentioned in my description, I like to keep dogs feeling as comfortable and normal as possible while their humans are away-- so if there are any daily routines they have, or ways to help them cope with stress, I would love to know so that our time together feels safe to them. And then obviously any medications or specific diets they follow will be important info for me as well!
A typical day
My favorite thing about dogs is that they have an active side that creates a fun, energetic atmosphere, and then afterwards they become all sleepy, cuddly, and content. If they have a preferred walking route, I'll usually stick to that and let them guide me around their favorite spots. And if they have a favorite toy, I make sure to spend time playing with it each day!

Availability
I've recently had to take a pause from working, which has encouraged me to seek out different opportunities and has freed up space for spending more time with animals! Over the last few months I've had the chance to sit for some family and friends (some for weeks at a time), so I figured I would expand my horizons and bring my services to Rover. As far as my schedule goes, apart from some random appointments every month, my days are wide open! I am free any time during the week, including weekends. Because of this flexible schedule, I really love and prefer overnight sitting gigs so that I have more time to get to know your fur baby and give them the most personal care I can!
