Pet care experience
HI! MY OVERNIGHT HOUSE SITTING RATE IS LOWER FOR CAT-ONLY STAYS. (PLEASE SEE "ADDITIONAL SERVICES & RATES") I have lived with cats my entire life, and I understand them and their needs. I especially love caring for the sensitive ones or elderly cats with special needs as it makes me happy to see them comfortable and happy. I know that they need attention, brushing, play-time, infinite love and fresh water (multiple times a day) and fresh food. A very clean place to potty is also important! I am happy to do overnights if you want someone to be there at night for your pet. (My “day job” is remote so I can be there during the day if you have good Wifi.) I also love dogs and am available to care for them as well: small to medium-size only please. I have been pet-sitting since I was in grade school for neighborhood pets and my grandma's friend's pets. I have continued to do it in every city I have lived in as I truly enjoy it (NYC, New Orleans, Houston and now in Aspen. I lost my own kitty in 2021 (she was 18.5 years old), and so I started pet-sitting again because it helped my heart to heal by giving love to animals. If I could win the lotto and quit my day job/career in classical music, I would just take care of cats in need all day, like Beth Stern! I also started pet sitting and set up a Rover profile because it was hard for me to find a good pet sitter for my sensitive cat. So I want pets and their owners to have this- great care. I love to text a lot of photos and videos of your fur baby so you can see how they are doing. I am happy to do meet and greets prior to bookings, as we may both feel more safe and comfortable that way.

Felt so at ease and safe having Sarah stay in our home to look after Beowulf! He clearly had a blast with her and bonded so quickly. Her communication is exceptional! Will absolutely rebook for future house sitting and drop in visits when we travel. Thanks a million Sarah!
Sarah was incredible with our kitty. She was patient with him and spent lots of time playing and caring for him. She regularly shared photos and updates. Sarah even went the extra mile and was extremely flexible with drop off and pick up times.

For pets in my home, they will be in a large 1-bedroom free-standing guest house, so no shared walls with neighbors (no loud, disturbing sounds except for occasional garage door opening.) I let them sleep with me if they want and drink from any faucet (but not the toilet.) Same as in your home: I am the cat slave.

A typical day
When I walk dogs, I enjoy letting them show me their favorite route near their home. Please tell me in advance what this is so I can anticipate what they are going to show me. :) In my home, I take them on walks on the street that goes up and down my mountain (I live in Brush Creek.) It’s beautiful and doesn’t have a lot of traffic.

Availability
My day job includes zooms that start at 9am. So my typical pet sitting day includes: Wake up around 7am to start spoiling them, breakfast, etc.. Hopefully they crawl into my lap or walk across the screen during my zoom so my coworkers will start texting me: “Who is that fluffy baby?” Or “I’m living for you petting that cat right now.” Zoom over: back to spoiling and some phone calls in between. Repeat… Theme of the day: Servant to your pet Maybe we take a little nap on the couch at some point? If it’s a weekend then no zooms or phone calls to book piano recitals, but I will ski for a few hours.
