Fulfill my itch to have a 2nd dog!

Pet care experience

Currently I work remotely but I’m a former teacher who still loves teaching… but now, I just teach my dog instead of little humans. The dogs that I’ve watched/walked have ranged from an energetic corgi mix to a sassy&stubborn cocker spaniel to a reactive pit bull. I am comfortable with all types of dogs! However, I prefer to keep a max of 2 Rover dogs at my house at once. I’m VERY familiar with dogs and pack dynamics and I never want your dog to feel overwhelmed. I will also let you know if another dog will be here and they will be properly vetted for any reactivity. Emotional and physical safety is priority!

Sarah was amazing with our pup while we were out of town for the weekend. Sarah made sure our pup was sticking to her new diet after discovery she has food allergies. She sent tons of pictures and updates about what they were up to and how she was doing. Our dog came home exhausted after a weekend filled with nonstop playtime. She loves spending time with Sarah & Dakota!

Sarah is the greatest dog sitter ever! All the pics and videos she sends makes me feel so good that my dog was happy and safe staying with her.

She is by far the best sitter I have had! Lotus seemed very happy, and she has a XL DOGGY DOOR! I was never stressed about leaving him bc she would send me pics and videos of him and Dakota having walks and chilling together. He definitely had lots of cuddles that weekend. Also, she was super flexible with my busy schedule and flight cancellations! Absolutely loved this experience!

Information Sarah O. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog is reactive and has triggers. That way, I can prepare! If they are reactive to other dogs, I can distract them with plenty of treats.

A typical day

Lots of walking! I get 15K+ steps a day as a remote worker and that’s due to all the dog walking. I believe mental stimulation and just as important and physical activity so we will be doing training (for fun), hide and seek games, etc. I will not take your dogs to Dog Parks. I personally don’t trust unknown dogs to approach us. However, if you are okay with the risk and would like me to, I will. If you’d like me to rent a pool for our dogs to swim, let me know! We can split the cost and I’ll make sure our dogs have a private swim at a clean pool.

Availability

Current Schedule: 7AM. I let the dogs out into my fenced in yard, while I get ready for the day. 7:30AM I take the dogs on a 2 mile walk or take them to a nearby park where we play. 8:30AM When we return home, I’ll give the dogs breakfast. They will be asked to wait for their food. (If your dog has never done this, that’s okay! Like I said, I love training.) They will be released and fed at different places to avoid reactivity. After breakfast, they have access to a doggy door if they’d like to nap outside. 12PM if it’s hot, I do a fun “training session,” which involves lots of treats. Right now, I’m trying to teach my dog to do a backwards weave. Other times, I’ll do a walk where I pick up litter/trash while dogs sniff around. If your dog loves water, we can play with the hose too! 4PM Dogs will play in the front yard. I have toys or we will play a game of hide and seek. I’ll hide a treat or toy and they’ll sniff it out. They LOVE this. Great way to mentally stimulate our dogs! 6PM Dinner time! 7:30PM We’ll do a nighttime walk. 9PM last potty break and then off to bed. I let dogs sleep where they like. When they are with me, they are treated as part of the family. If you’d like them to be crated, I can absolutely do that for you.
