Pet care experience
We live in a townhouse with an older black Lab (he's very into naps) and a cat. (no kids) **there are a LOT of stairs, we are on the 3d & 4th floor** There is a wide yard out front and a park in the neighborhood that we can walk to (it's where all the neighbor dogs go to sniff.) I work from home and, several days a week, so does my husband (an avid runner -- if your guy is high octane.) Weekends, your dog is welcome to come to the Leesburg farmers' market (if they like): car rides, meet other dogs, visit the Dog Baker (yes, really, he makes cheese biscuits in fire-hydrant shapes). Dog-sitting has been a nice way for me to enjoy a second & third dog! while my husband still thinks we only have one. ; ) We have a pretty quiet household - the pets know the schedule and can tell time. --If you have a daily routine, that's great, we can definitely adapt so everyone is comfortable and feels the stability of a schedule. ++ Also, we can do day-time sitting, if you need 12 hrs because of work for example (someone asked). Just text, we're up early for drop-offs. Easy. -- If your dog's stay is longer than 2 weeks, we can talk about baths & grooming (there wasn't a space for it on the "bath fee" list) It's no problem. Why I love dog sitting Growing up in the country, there were no leash laws, we had a St.Bernard before I could walk. We have had Hap, a very shy Black Lab, since his (terrible) rescue 4 years ago. (Lost Dog Rescue!) He is very submissive because of his past so, we're careful when he meets new dogs. Meet my pets: 1 dog & 1 fearless cat About my yard: We have a townhouse front yard: very wide but no fence. So, we are all leash, all the time here. My experience administering medication: Yes. We've had pets with various chronic conditions and also experience with serious illness.

Sarah has been caring for my dog and cats for years! She is always responsive and takes special care of them. We appreciate her and would highly recommend!!
We love Miss Sarah! She is reliable, flexible and truly amazing with our pup! I trust her completely and so happy we found her! Highly recommend!
Sarah was excellent. She took care of the 4 cats, 2 turtles, and many flowers with no problems. I could rest, assured that everything would be fine.
Sarah has been our go to walker and she is so good. Very professional, punctual and loving. Highly recommended.

Information Sarah M. would like to know about your pet
Open to any breed but I would like as much information as possible -- needs, likes, temperament, sleep habits (in bed? in crate?), vet contact info (there is a page for Your dog's information that will stay with your profile so you only have to enter it once), medical conditions (not a problem.) There is a page for you type out your dog's general information: daily schedule, special needs... If you use certain words for Sit & Release or going to the bathroom : please include those on that page! Each dog needs to the hear words they understand. Also, the page stays on their profile so it will be in place for future stays with any Rover sitter. *If you're new to Rover, ALWAYS do a Meet & Greet, we require it for the happiness of our dog and the visitor; and don't be shy about meeting more than one Rover sitter to find a good fit. *Whenever possible, we coordinate your Meet with other dogs who will be here the same nights. Also know that holidays & summer book Very fast and sometimes far in advance; you'll want to do a Meet and book as fast as possible so you don't lose your dates -- just a tip!
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks It is a planned neighborhood with a park & gazebo (where all the local dogs like to mark and check each other out). For longer walks (1 mile or more) we go across to an older neighborhood with a walking path and taller trees. Your dog's sleeping arrangement It depends on your dog. Our guy has a bed upstairs in the area outside our door. We have had visiting dogs sleep upstairs near him, other dogs who needed to be alone in the kitchen with a baby-gate, and a tiny guy who slept in our bed. Whatever works for your dog is probably fine with us. We adapt. Time I'll spend with your dog: well, I'm home all day - at my desk or puttering around. Going out is on a reliable schedule or by their "Obvious Request". So we can stick to your dog's regular schedule and routine. *Same goes for "on the sofa / bed" rules: we'll be consistent with YOUR rules & flexible with our sofa ; )
