Flexible & dependable dog caretaker

Pet care experience

My Personal Dog Story: My first dog was Flash, a 4-year-old lab/border collie mix my family rescued from the NH Humane Society. He was unquestionably loyal, high-energy and extremely intelligent, but also had his quirks- he had an abusive past, was wary of other dogs and male strangers and would bolt if allowed off a leash. He continued to be a smiley and insistent oversized lap dog, even through the last two years of his life with a bum hind leg after having a stroke. Regardless, he was ours, and he was perfect. I'm planning on adopting my own dog in the near future, but for now I’m happy to hang out with your pup. I currently live with two snuggly cats, Olive and Lou. Ideology and Experience: My love for dogs is equally met with a respect for each of their individual qualities, including training levels, socialization skills, trust thresholds and exercise needs. Some dogs immediately accept you into their pack, listen to every command and play well with lots of dogs around. Other dogs may need warming up to, require structure while obedience training, don’t do well in large groups, get overwhelmed walking on busier city streets or have certain quirks that are important to keep in mind. I approach dog caretaking with confidence, patience and sensitivity to the needs of the specific dog and owner. I also have done caretaking for senior dogs that need special attention or administration of medication, including pills, eye drops and mouth syringes. I have experience as both a drop-in walker and overnight dog sitter, ranging one night to one month. I've taken care of a wide variety of dogs, from rambunctious young hound mixes to grumpy senior pomeranians. I hope to give you peace of mind that when you leave me with your home and your dog that both will be well taken care of. For extended stays, I can cover plant watering, care for other pets, trash duties or housekeeping responsibilities. Regardless of my capacity as your dog’s caretaker, I’m happy to provide photo updates or just let you enjoy your time away from home without check-ins, assured that your dog and home are safe. I promise to respect your time, space and pet, and I look forward to learning more about you and your unique and lovable loyal companion.

Sarah went above and beyond with our little pup! Jai is a sensitive and timid four month old Aussie, and Sarah took extra care to build trust and stayed longer to make sure he was comfortable. Plus, she through in the laundry when Jai has a mini accident! Thank you!

Sarah was great to work with! She was very responsive during the booking process. She came over to meet my cat and understand his needs before finalizing the booking, which I thought was very professional and helpful for both of us. She sent updates after each visit. She and the cat seemed to get along well and he seemed very happy and well cared for when I returned from my trip. I would definitely work with Sarah again.

Can't say enough good things about Sarah! Our little Hiro is usually nervous around new people but took to her instantly. Great communication as well. We would use her again in a heartbeat!

Sarah is terrific! She has cared for my two senior dogs on several occasions, including drop-in as well as house-sitting stints. One of my dogs requires medication mixed into her food and both have required pill administration. I know I can trust Sarah to handle these things with no problems. The dogs are always in great shape when we return, as is the house. Sarah is mature, dependable, and cheerful. She promptly returns all communications and gives me regular updates on the dogs when we are away. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for pet- and/or house-sitting services!
