Doggie Mom with fenced-in yard!

Pet care experience

Thanks for reading my profile! I'll start off with a little bit about me in general and then proceed to my pet history. I'm originally from Canada and moved to San Diego in 2015 when my husband got transferred here. I work full time for a software company and of that, I am home about 50% of the time (when I'd be dog sitting obviously); other than that, I travel with my territory being North America. I have several degrees and designations. For fun, I hang out at the gym, do yoga, golf and read. Until we know that we are living here permanently, we are renting. Currently we are in a house with a fenced in yard. After buying our starter house in Canada, my husband and I adopted an adult dog from the SPCA (Canadian equivalent of the Humane Society) named Coby. We changed his name to Cody and had him as our fur-kid for the next 5 years. Man that dog could run so fast! We ended up being running partners on a trail close to our house. He was a mix and we think black lab x Am Staff. He was so sweet and quite the lapdog at 50lbs. :) We had to put Cody down due to complications from diabetes (where I learned to administer medications via injection) after having him as part of the family for 5+ years. It was the hardest decision we ever had to make. He is in the pictures I have attached from my profile along with our cat, Mittens (who got to fly to San Diego vs driving). We fostered for a local animal rescue charity in Canada called Lab Rescue for about a year. It was challenging because you didn't know what kind of background the dog had. I think we fostered 5 dogs separately (a border Collie mix named Molly, a yellow lab mix named Abbey, a shepherd mix puppy (Fisher) and a beautiful red lab named Finley) before we met Bowser, our 5th and final foster thru the SPCA because we ended up keeping him. (don't tell my husband, but when we met Bowser, I knew we'd keep him even though he was nearly naked, poor little dude) I could write 3 pages' worth of stuff about Bowser but I'll keep it short. Bowser was rescued from a very bad situation where he was tied up outside, starved and had demodex/mange and the SPCA actually used him in their legal suit against the 'family' that he was rescued from (Go Bowser!). Although he was rescued at 39lbs, Bowser, being boxer/mastiff mix should have been around 70-75lbs. Over the first year, Bowser learned to go up and down stairs, got his fur back and gained lots of confidence and weight. He was also very well traveled. When we moved here from Canada, I drove with Bowser in the backseat to San Diego where my husband already was living. Bowser had the sweetest personality, got along with our cat Mittens and loved to wake you up with a slobbery kiss. He is no longer with us and I miss him dearly. He is also in the pics I've attached including ones from Canada and here in San Diego.

I am so glad that I found Sarah. She is very kind to me and my 2 dogs. She has been a huge help to me while my husband has been deployed. She feeds my dogs dinner and walks them almost every night. She has been great about communicating with me and working with me and my schedule. She always sends photos and updates on how things are going. She also responds quickly and shows up for the dogs on time. She really cares about my dogs and tends to their individual needs and personalities.

Sarah was so great ! I unfortunately had to get a sitter last minute, but she took the time to come to my house before hand to get to know my dogs as well as myself and made me feel comfortable about leaving my boys with her. Not only did she do a great job on coming to check on my dogs but she even offered to take them home with her for the day so they wouldn’t be alone ! I was super happy that my babies had a great time at her place and I’ll be definitely booking her again. If anyone is looking for a awesome above and beyond sitter message Sarah ! She will take good care of your babies :)

Sarah is an amazing sitter and person. She took our dog Abe on hikes, runs and walks and was very easy to keep in touch with. She really made my wife and I feel like our dog was in great hands while we were away on our honeymoon as well as sending us great pictures of him considering our dog hates posing for photos! I will work with Sarah whenever we are away and she is available. She is very kind, easy to talk to and also brings her husband Ryan along on walks at times as well which is nice as Abe gets even more people time that way. A++++!!!

We have known Sarah for 13 years now. Sarah has always been a compassionate and caring dog parent ensuring the family dog is well cared for from everyday walks to regular visits to the vet and even doggy daycare to help break up those long days while away at work for the day. I would highly recommend Sarah as a dog sitter; she would look after your family dog like he/she was her own!

Information Sarah M. would like to know about your pet

Here is what I'd like to know about your dog: Allergies Flea medication Food/walk/bathroom habits Ok with cats or other dogs that we might meet on the street? Any items that need help with?

A typical day

Our neighborhood has an awesome path that I think is nearly a mile long but if it's dark then we will stick to sidewalks. If its not too hot and your dog is up for it, I'd love to go on a hike at the park in Tierrasanta where I hike solo quite often. I have a few but my favorite leash is one that goes around my waist and has a little cartridge for poop bags so both hands are free.
