Pet care experience
I have had a dog and a cat since I was 5. I have taken care of neighbors and friends pets when they have gone on vacation. I have experience with both large and small dogs and unfortunately, my childhood dog passed away recently and I miss walking and taking care of him. I want to be a dog walker for rover to help dogs get the exercise and care they need, and to remind me of the walks I went on with my dog growing up. I'm currently working from home and I have plenty of time to come by to walk, play, and take care of your dog! I am respectful of people and their homes. I have dog sat before and I currently live in an apartment with no pets and one roommate who also loves animals!

Sarah is a dog whisperer! She instantly bonded with our pug and shihtzu and gave them much love and belly rubs. Great communicator as well! highly recommend.
Sarah is an extremely trustworthy pet lover. I would trust her with my pets any day, for a 30 minute walk or even an overnight! I know she will communicate with me the entire time and I always know my pets are in good hands. I would recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a pet walker or sitter!
Sarah does not meet strangers… especially furry ones! She grew up taking care of her family pets consisting of a Maltese and a rescued kitten. She is kind, gentle, and very active — perfect for fast paced pups. Additionally, Sarah is extremely bright, responsible, and trustworthy, which are 3 characteristics I find important when selecting someone to take care of fur babies. I could not recommend Sarah more!

I live in an apartment with no other animals. I also live near the beach and telegraph hill, both great areas to walk dogs. My roommate also loves animals and grew up with two dogs. The two of us would make your pet feel at home and cared for.

It's important to know how dogs get along with other dogs so I can tailor the walk to fit the dogs needs and personality. For example, a social dog who is comfortable around others dogs I could bring to a park or area where there may be other dogs. A dog who doesn't get along well with other dogs I would make sure we go to a more private area. I think it's also helpful to know if a dog is scared of anything. Growing up, my dog was scared of baby carriages for some reason. It's important to know what they dislike so it can be avoided.
A typical day
I am a big believer of words of affirmation. I like to talk to dogs and make them feel loved and comfortable. I think dogs can tell when someone is calm and they respond well to it. I like to play games with dogs and stop and let them smell all the new smells. In the summer time, hot pavement can hurt dogs paws, so I would walk them in grassy areas and make sure they have water to stay cool.

Availability
I currently work from home and go on many walks during the day to get outside and stay active. I would love to walk a dog during my walks because I feel it would benefit the dog and myself. I love playing with and taking care of animals and dogs need lots of outdoor time to stay happy and healthy.
