Pet care experience
I tailor my approach to each dog based on their comforts and preferences through empathy, intuition and observable non-verbal cues. I have been managing a doggie daycare and boarding facility here in Austin for the past 3 years and absolutely love going to work everyday. The knowledge I’ve gained of canine behavior and psychology through my position as a kennel manager has been invaluable. I’m also certified in pet cpr and first aid through PetSaver which is an interactive 10 hour, in-person course with a really adorable pittie to practice on. I have a 4 year old rescue greyhound named Hawkeye and 2 overly affectionate, slightly overweight 8 year old cats, all of whom would rather nap then play. I’ve been obsessed with animals since I was old enough to lift my head but you’d be hard pressed to find a Rover employee that isn’t. What makes me an especially qualified candidate is my knowledge base and professional experience working with dogs on a daily basis. Please feel free to ask me anything I may have neglected to cover here and I’ll get back to you pronto!
Reviews
Sarah did an awesome job and always gave me updates whenever she'd walk Elle! I felt very comfortable leaving my dog in her care.
Sarah was awesome - we definitely recommend her! She’s trustworthy, easy to communicate with and was very thorough, making sure she had everything she needed to take good care of our dog. You can tell she's had a lot of experience with dogs and truly loves them. I felt truly comfortable trusting her with our dog and our house. She sent great photos with funny captions and let us know when she was coming and going. Also, she was very accommodating of my detailed requests and sent poop reports without us even needing to ask for them. Knowing that Sarah was looking in on Lucy made my time away so much more relaxing. We will definitely be booking with her again.
Sarah has an amazing connection with dogs! She's watched our husky/sheltie mix Sawyer; they totally love each other and were bffs right away. Sawyer has some separation anxiety, and Sarah was amazing with him: lots and lots of snuggles, playtime, and of course walkies, treats, and food. She took fantastic care of him. Sawyer's dad and I trust Sarah completely. She's is also a loving, caring, awesome human being! Sarah's the best. :)
Sarah is the best! She was the first person we ever trusted to take care of your precious rescue doggo, Sawyer. We had to leave town while he was in the middle of heartworm treatments and he also has anxiety issues, so you know we had to get the best to care for him. Sarah is so kind and loving with animals that it's a beautiful thing to watch. It's like she was made for taking care of critters. In our book, she's the absolute best choice if you need someone to take care of your fuzzy loved ones. Because she'll love them, too. =)

Information Sarah L. would like to know about your pet
The most important aspect for me is what routine has already been set in place for the dog previously as to not upset him/her any further than the owners being away.
A typical day
I really enjoy the Ann and Roy Butler hike and bike trail around Ladybird lake. You can't beat the view at sunset. There are plenty of opportunities for social interactions as well if your pup lacks socialization. I tend to avoid dog parks as the level of safety and/or control is often sacrificed and opt for long walks with the dog maintaining close proximity to me.
