Pet care experience
Experienced caregiver with an extensive background in animal husbandry, first aid and pet grooming. Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute Graduate with a major in Agribusiness/Kennel Management. In addition to working as a professional pet groomer for three years, I have worked in multiple kennel/daycare settings throughout the years and am looking forward to providing a more personalized (and less stressful!) experience for your pets. My home is quiet and cozy, with one very happy puppy named May and our two cats Kenny and Seven. Animals that are in my care are always treated with the care that I provide my own. As a trainer/caretaker for 40 Morgan horses, my job requires making decisions on behalf of owners on a case by case basis, with a focus on safety and animal welfare always. My approach has always had a primary focus of building the foundation of trust between both the animals I interact with daily, and their people!
Reviews
Sarah was amazing! Our pup loved her immediately and fussed for attention. She was communicative and flexible, as well as understanding about our dog being selective when it comes to other dogs. He was very well taken care of and they made him feel comfortable. Definitely will be using her again for pet sitting in the future
Sarah was very friendly and attentive to my little dog. She gave me updates and even did the drop and pick up. I will definitely hire her again!
Sarah welcomed Charlie into her home as if she was her own dog. She also sent detailed updates about the activities from the days with pictures, which I appreciated so much! I would trust Sarah with my dog again and would absolutely recommend her!
Sarah was fabulous! Ollie had a blast! We will definitely be using Sarah's services again.

My number one concern is definitely safety, and I'm always conscious of making sure dogs are secure both in my home and outside. I'm happy to follow any directions and suggestions left by the pet owner.

Information Sarah K. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences, and have experience working with all breeds. Before sitting for a dog, I'd like to know their tendencies around new people, situations, animals, etc. Are they destructive/anxious, and if so, what may help them best through those moments! Whether or not they have a history of resource guarding or barking. Any history of food allergies, sensitivities and of course if they have a history of aggression. None of these things exempt a dog from staying here necessarily, but by honestly providing all the information I'll be best equipped to give your dog a healthy and safe experience. I have capacity to host up to two dogs from seperate families, but can accommodate and have experience with dog aggressive animals as well (they can be the only dog in my home if requested early) In high demand times (holidays, vacations) there is an additional fee to be the only boarding dog that I am happy to discuss upon request. Safety is my number one priority and I so appreciate owners being candid about their dogs! The only thing I can't accept is dogs who aren't child friendly. Besides all that, I want to know what makes them feel comfortable and secure, and most importantly what makes them a happy dog! For May, it's a brand new squeaky toy!
A typical day
Some of my favorite places to take my own dog are the state forests in the area... Harold Parker, Georgetown/Rowley. There is a small park within walking distance of my apartment that we go for fetch as well (on a 50 foot lead always, boarding dogs are never off leash in my care)

Availability
My schedule varies week to week, and I'm happy to adjust accordingly and discuss based on individual requests. During the week, I am mostly available for afternoon drop ins, with more freedom for daycare and all day availability on the weekends.
