Professional walker/sitter!

Pet care experience

Welcome! I've been a professional pet-sitter/dog-walker in the Los Angeles area for nearly 7 years, and just recently moved back to my hometown, Memphis. While I'm fairly new to the Rover platform, I've worked with a local pet-sitting company and independently in Los Angeles (and Memphis) with a large number of clients. *I'm insured and bonded so you can have peace of mind knowing that you and your pets are covered. Your pet's safety and care is my top priority, and I don't hesitate to go the extra mile to make that happen. My experience includes thousands of dog walks with a variety of breeds - everything from Chihuahuas, to Beagles, to Samoyeds, to Pits. I also have a ton of experience with pet-sitting in the client's home, and have taken care of both small and large breeds - including St. Bernards and Great Danes! Since my dad is a (retired) veterinarian, I've been around animals and pet care from a young age. We took in neighborhood strays and abandoned dogs/cats, but the closest bond I had with a pet was our Beagle, Penny Lane, who we had for 12 years. Animals seem to know I'm an animal person, and I tend to form bonds with them quickly. One of the best things about this job is getting to know all the pets in my care and developing bonds with my fur friends. The second perk is getting to know my clients and developing friendships with them as well. I'm still in touch with my regulars in Los Angeles, and visit them when I'm in town. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members. Contact me for a meet and greet if interested!

Sarah was wonderful. She showed up on time and on short notice. Was very professional, responsible, knowledgeable and attentive, followed all requests and I felt extremely comfortable leaving our fur babies in her care. She's very cool and my dogs loved her!

Sarah was just what I needed in a pet sitter! Reliable, responsive, trustworthy and caring! As my dogs got older they had health issues that I could trust Sarah with when I was away!

Information Sarah K. would like to know about your pet

I like to know any quirks, fears, preferences, or medical conditions a pet might have. Safety and comfort are the two top concerns for any good pet-sitter. It's important to know how a dog behaves on walks, especially with other people, dogs, and environmental distractions. I need to know I can safely handle them. Veterinary information and local emergency contacts are crucial to have as well - particularly while pet sitting when the client is out of town. While I have experience administering medications, I don't have experience with injecting insulin or fluids other than assisting someone else doing it. I don't have any particular breed preferences. As long as your dog isn't aggressive or hard to handle, I'm open to all breeds.

A typical day

I usually stay in a client's neighborhood for walks, but can take a dog to another location (such as a park) with the client's permission. I've found that most dogs enjoy new sites and smells occasionally, and are happy to take a detour from their normal route. I don't take dogs to dog parks unless it's a regular activity for the dog, and the owner requests it. When walks aren't an option, I play in the yard or in the house with toys - or settle in for some snuggles and pets if the pups aren't the playful type. Of course, that's the usual activity for cat visits/stays.
