Pet care experience
I have extensive relevant experience in dog walking, dog/cat sitting and care! I worked as a veterinary assistant for 7 years in a hospital that also boarded animals. In this position I learned how to administer many common medications to animals including insulin and IV fluids, recognize various medical issues, and respond to emergency situations. I also worked with a dog walking and cat care company in Chicago for a while before doing freelance dog and cat care for the past three years. I really love spending time with animals, including my own two cats. My career reflects this interest as well as I am currently a PhD student studying Animal Behavior and Cognition at CUNY. I would love to meet and care for your pets!

Sarah's first job was for Horton Animal Hospital-Forum. Volunteering at 15 years of age, taking care of boarded and hospitalized dogs, and cats. (Sarah would ride her bike to come work her shift.) That level of dedication led us to hire Sarah as a Veterinary Technician when she turned 16. Always dependable, and attentive to the health, and well being of animals under her care.
Sarah has been our go-to cat and dog and sitter for the last 5 years - she is incredibly responsible, communicative and loving with our pets. Sarah regularly does both overnights in our home and drop-in walks/visits for our dog and cat, and we wouldn't trust anyone else but her. Her professional background and work at the zoo is just an added bonus! We honestly do not know what we would have done without her over the years...she was especially helpful when our cat had emergency surgery and we had to go out of town. Sarah was a champ and sent regular updates, photos, and kept us at ease the entire time. She also administers medication for our pets when they need it, and we don't have to worry about a thing. Sarah is honestly our one and only choice to take care of our fur-babies, whether it is a dinner out or a long vacation (including our honeymoon!) We have recommended Sarah to several of our family and friends who have also used her, and they have had nothing but incredible things to say about her. Having someone who is so dependable and sweet (both with our pets and with us!) makes being a pet owner that much more enjoyable. Thanks again, Sarah!
