I have spent six months working at a doggy day care and boarding facility taking care of up to 125 dogs a day. I have spent even more time dog walking and sitting for friends, relatives, and strangers. I'll make sure to give your dog(s) what they need, the proper energy, love, and boundaries to allow them to feel safe and well exercised. The personalities of each dog intrigues me and I love giving them the exact attention that they need. I'm excited to play with them, walk, hike, feed, and check in with any other needs that they may have. Both of my family dogs have recently died and so it gives me great joy to give love and attention to the dogs of others. I'm looking forward to spending time with your pup!

Upfront communication about an animals needs and rules/expectations in the homes of my clients is foundational to being able to keep your animals safe whether it’s on a walk, throwing a ball in the backyard, or in your home. If a safety concern arises that was not previously discussed, I will make sure to reach out and confirm what is expected rather than ignore the possible risk.

It is especially helpful for me to know if your dog has any triggers on walks such as lunging towards other dogs or cats, chasing squirrels, resource guarding, barking, or places to avoid walking (i.e. a busy playground or a particular house that has barking dogs in the window who your dog reacts to).
A typical day
I give lots of positive encouragement on walks with words (and tones) of affirmation and head scratches/pets. In the home (cats,too) we’ll do a combination of attention giving with scratches and cuddles as well as play time with any toys your pets have. If you have a fenced yard I will bring your pup out for some good sniffing and throw around a ball or stick if they take to those!

I have a very open schedule as I am reorienting around my career and am hoping to go back to school soon. In the mean time, I want to spend a lot of time with animals! I have availability all days of the week.
