Hello, I am a GVSU alumni and work business development remotely here in Rockford. I was a vet assistant for many years and have grown up with animals as my mom is a vet tech/behavioral consultant. I grew up socializing kittens/shelter pups, and feel very comfortable with all breeds of dogs. I have good knowledge of medical practice and can give medications or even administer fluids or handle any special accommodations. I have a flexible schedule and take a 2-3 mile walk daily that I'd love to have your dog join me on. Why I love dog sitting Aside from being a vet assistant for four years, I have always grown up in a house of animals, and my mom being a behavioral consultant has taught me how to be responsive to all dog's individual personalities. My husband and I travel quite a bit so we do not have our own dog, just a little cat-dog, so I love getting my pup fix by walking and taking care of yours! I also understand how unsettling it is to have to leave your pet or expose a shy pet to a boarding/kennel experience so I am happy to be the person you need to keep your pet's needs met comfortably. I am a really good option for pets that need medication or have mild behavioral concerns, as I am experienced in handling/training, as well as pups that could use some help on their leash manners as I am not an easy one to pull or knock down. While I’m happy to work with your pup on their manners if you’d like, I’m not here to judge them, just enjoy the time spent with them if it’s not a priority for you. A note on pricing: I take being chosen and accepting these assignments as seriously as my full time career role. In 10 years of being a pet sitter/dog walker I have never cancelled on a client or been unable to fulfill on my obligations. I chose my specific pricing with thoughts to blocking off my calendar, taking time from other things on weekends, travel time, gas, and my level of experience. It may seem as though experience does not matter, and in many instances that is true that anyone could handle a pet. However, in 10 years I will tell you I have heard stories from clients of insane instances that require quick thinking and even some medical knowledge or people not showing up for their animals. I urge you to choose someone on this platform that is not just the least expensive, but has good solid reviews and experience with animals that are not their own. It frustrates me to see new clients commenting on socials with poor experiences due to inexperience or people who do not take the trust someone is putting in them seriously.

Sarah administered meds, gave plenty of love and attention, and even braved the weather to make sure our pets were well taken care of. I would not hesitate to use her again on future vacations.
Sarah was extremely flexible when we had to reschedule 2 times for weather and illness. Outstanding with our pups and timely with the drop in. Highly recommend!!

No breed preferences, I have worked with most and love all dogs. If your dog is weary of strangers or you are uncertain how they would handle a new interaction, I really do not mind doing a meet and greet first.
A typical day
We have a "cat-dog" cat that was raised around my parent's dogs and cats so she is very social and enjoys a furry friend. We spoil her, and any pet that comes our way. We are very active and love to go for walks. We only take in one dog at a time so we can keep it a relaxed and enjoyable time for us and them.

Availability
With a remote work schedule, I absolutely love getting out of the house and spending time with your pets. I am happy playing fetch in a backyard or having your pet join me for a brisk walk or even jog if they need to get a lot of exercise.
