Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life, starting with four German Shorthair Pointers at five years old (I did have a little help then, shout out to my mom). My childhood consisted of competitive dog sledding in northern Michigan. I cared for my three-dog team and operated a kennel of 25 dogs while in high school. I’ve also worked dogs through obedience and agility training. Dogs will always have a special place in my heart. I retired from dog sledding when I was 17 but could not stand the idea of going to college without a canine companion, so I adopted a black lab mix puppy named Lily. She followed me through college and was my best friend. Sadly Lily passed away in 2020 due to lung cancer. We cared for her for a year and 1/2 through cancer treatment. This means I am very well trained in caring for dogs with medical issues that need special care. My husband and I added to our family by adopting Marshall, a rambunctious and loving GSP. We recently adopted a female GSP mix named Birdie from a local shelter. She loves having new playmates and is doing well with socializing and training. I am currently earning a dog training professional certification through Karen Pryor. This is a positive reinforcement-focused training program and is highly regarded. It’s just me, my husband, and Marshall & Birdie in our 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house with a fenced-in yard, right next to a large park. Your fur baby will get lots of attention, playtime, and snuggles while in our care. We also have spare guest bedrooms and private spaces so that guests can have quiet time away from the other dogs. Your pets are my number one priority and focus during the day. They will get lots of attention, love, snuggles, and playtime while in my care. I’ll treat your dogs just like the many I’ve owned and trained before. I’m excited to meet your special family members! <3 Follow Marshall and Birdie on Instagram along with training tips and see past clients: adventures_withmydogs I also have a blog devoted to outdoor recreation with Marshall and Birdie, along with training and behavioral advice. Link on my Instagram. My schedule is very flexible, so if you have a unique situation, just ask, and we can work out a service time that works for you! We have a securely fenced-in yard that we have puppy-proofed so escape artists can’t get out. Our entire house is open for the dogs to play and run around, so they will have plenty of space to relax and get their energy out while they stay with us. If your dog needs quiet time, they are welcome to hang out in our two spare bedrooms or office. For dog walking, I have experience using all types of leashes, harnesses, and training equipment. I also use positive reinforcement techniques to help your dog learn good manners when walking on a leash that I’m happy to use with your dog if you like!

Great communication and treated our puppy with great care!! Thank you!
Thank you for taking care of Cesar!
cancelled service after one visit leaving me to find an alternative while out of town. Said she had experience with senior dogs, but was unable to deal with my elderly Great Dane that is not self motivated to get up and go outside.
Sarah is amazing!!

Information Sarah F. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has ever had any disagreements with other dogs either in leash, at the dog park, while staying with another dog, etc. I’d also like to understand your dogs temperament, are they very excited or can they be more standoffish and need to warm up to their environment? Also inform me of their eating, sleeping and potty habits. Let me know if they will have a crate or bed coming with them. If you need a spare dog bed I have plenty of extra clean beds available!
A typical day
Our house is stocked with fun toys and activity games to ensure your pup has an exciting stay with us. We also have a park right next door that we spend time at and a fully open backyard to play in.
