**I no longer offer house sitting, but I can provide drop-in visits for the same overall price- I just won't be staying overnight. Dogs will be left alone from 11PM-7AM.** I spent several years helping run a pet care service- we took every kind of animal, which was incredibly fun (and quite the learning curve)! This work included scheduling walks/visits, working with other walkers to ensure that they felt safe and supported, talking with pet owners to figure out their preferences and build relationships, and the actual, hands-on pet care of dogs and cats (and rabbits, chickens, geckos, turtles... you get the idea!) Since my introduction to pet care was in the professional world, I strive to treat pets exactly as their owners do, because this keeps them calm and happy. This is also why I prefer to do overnights in their home- they know where all the toys are! I often say that I'm quite like a dog- I like a good head scratch, and I need to go for walks several times a day to stay happy. Hanging out with dogs gives me an excuse to do all of this with a furry friend, which makes my life infinitely better.
