Experienced vet assistant!
Pet care experience
I worked in veterinary medicine for 7 years at two different emergency animal hospitals in Calgary (one that treated birds, reptiles, rabbits and pocket pets in addition to cats and dogs). For 3 years I worked for a veterinary oncologist treating canine and feline cancer and supporting paw-rents through these diagnoses. I hold a diploma in veterinary assisting (2014). I am trained in canine and feline husbandry, and canine behaviour. I am confident caring for dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, reptiles, birds and pocket pets. I excel at working with dogs that require extra time warming up, struggle in certain environments, are withdrawn or scared, or have been known to act aggressively.
Reviews
Reliable and takes great care of Louie…Sarah is Louie’s new best friend!
Always great❤️
As always great care by Sarah 🐶
Thank you Sarah for watching our house and pups. Sarah kept us updated throughout our vacation and always asked lots of questions. She went out of her way to make sure the dogs were happy. We really appreciate it. When we had a snow storm heading back to Fernie she was reassuring and helpful. Lovely to come home to a spotless house and happy pups. Thank you!

Safety, trust & environment
I am very diligent to cater to the specific needs of different breeds, ages, level of activity and temperaments. I am able to determine a potential health concern or danger to your pet from my experience in emergency vet care. My home is 100% pet proof (a necessary part of having owned a beagle!) and I can ensure your furry family member is monitored closely!

Information Sarah F. would like to know about your pet
The more information the better! Food sensitivities, reactivity, no go petting zones, etc. I can supply a detailed questionnaire regarding your dog or cat at your request!
A typical day
Your furry friend will enjoy mentally stimulating toys and activities, and as much exercise as they require based on their activity level and personality. I use many different trails and areas of Fernie for my walks and am diligent to allow time to inspect the pee-mail along the way! I am constantly reading about all of the new ways to engage dogs and cats to prevent boredom and stress.
