I’ll keep your furbaby happy & safe

Pet care experience

Hi there! My name is Sarah and I would LOVE the opportunity to watch over your furkid(s) while you're away or even at work! I personally have 2 dogs (a bulldog and pitbull) and 2 cats and understand how our pets are more like family members who we want to be well taken care of and not have to worry about in a loud, cramped, kennel facility when we need to travel. I have always had a fondness of dogs and used to pet sit when I was growing up when I wasn't allowed to have one of my own. Now that I'm an adult and treat my dog like my own child, I want to pass along that loving and secure feeling to others nearby that worry about their pet when they're away from home. I think animals are a great judge of character of a person and would love to meet yours so they can see for themselves if we'd get along (though I'm confident they'll consider me their auntie by the end of our visit!). I would treat your furbaby, like my own and while they would miss you while you're away from home, they would also have plenty of attention, fun, and love to keep them busy so they aren't so lonely or anxious with you being gone! My dog is a pitbull mix so I have no problem with "aggressive" (we know they aren't though) breeds or large dogs, puppies, dogs who pull on walks, or older dogs who need a little more attention and patience. My previous dog was not dog-friendly and needed individualized attention the 10 years I had her so I completely understand those special quirks and needs and that would never keep me from taking great care of your pet, quite the opposite actually, because being a dog owner of a special needs dog I understand that dogs have unique personalities and shouldn’t all be treated or expected to act the same. I also love cats and other small animals!

Safety, trust & environment

I believe that most dogs can be friends but not all so if a dog is staying overnight I require a meet and greet with my dog so we can see how they get along for everyone’s happiness and safety. I have a large dog who gets alone with dogs of all sizes but very active hyper ones she’s not as fond about since she enjoys napping. Meet and greets are the best way to establish if my home and I made the right sitter for you

Information Sarah E. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences. But definitely keep me in the loop if there's something I should know ie: doesn't like other dogs or animals, pulls on leash, etc so there's no surprises!

A typical day

I think dogs need a great amount of exercise of socialization whether it be with other animals or humans so your dog would never be left alone for more than 2-4 hours without some type of interaction whether it's a nice long walk/jog, trip to the dog park, playing fetch or with other toys in the yard, snuggle time in the house, or sunbathing in the grass. I have a healthy balance of structure and fun, and am always carrying organic grain-free treats for tricks and good behavior! I believe dogs need to work out their energy (depending on age) so anywhere from 3-5 walks a day will be done depending on how active they are. Most importantly I don't ever stray too far from what they are used to doing on a day to day basis. I don't want them to feel their environment is changing, I just want them to know they're well taken care of when their parent(s) are out of town. What your schedule is like, I am happy to abide by, but if you want me to do anything extra or different I'm more than happy to keep you and them happy!

Availability

I work from home so I’m always around and available. I think dogs should be taken out every few hours so my dog comes into the office with me when I’m there otherwise I’m working from home so she can go out when needed. If watching pets in my home I work from home so they have attention as often as they need.
