Pet care experience
Growing up I trained/showed dogs through 4-H, which is where my love for dogs started. It is also where I learned to work with various types, sizes, and personalities of dogs, as well as to care for them and keep them safe and healthy. In addition to this and caring for my own dogs, I also lived with and cared for my grandmother’s two senior dogs, one of which had epilepsy. I’m also that person at a party who spends more time with your dog than with the human guests. I feel that helping other people care for their pets is a great way to earn some extra money while on summer break from teaching. Plus, as a high school teacher, I’m used to being flexible and reliable, both good qualities in someone caring for an animal. Please note: Weekdays during the school year I am generally commuting and at work from about 5am-4pm. I am willing to pet-sit but know that some people may not be comfortable having their pet alone that long. Please contact me if you’re interested even if my calendar says I’m unavailabile.

In August 2018, Sarah had the responsibility of watching my cat at my apartment when I was out of town for over a week. If I were to say she went above and beyond, it would be an understatement. When I asked others to watch my cat in the past, they would come for a couple minutes, feed her, clean her litter, and leave. However, Sarah made sure to actually stay and spend time here and play with my cat. She even took out my trash from all the cat litter, swept my littered-filled bathroom floor, and more. I did not have a single ounce of anxiety on my vacation, because I knew my cat was in great hands. Sarah is trusting and caring, and will be someone who actually cares about you and your pet.
I have known Sarah for about 6 or 7 years now and I can not think of a more dependable and caring person. She has always been so wonderful with my toy poodle and she is even more amazing with her own dog. Any time I've asked her to help out with my dog she has been there no questions asked. You'd be crazy not to hire her!
Sarah is my sister, and we spent our whole lives around dogs. Our father and grandmother led the local dog 4-H club, and she helped out at Akron Kennel Club events and shows. Sarah trained our own Carin Terrier in obeidience starting at age 9 through high school, achieving 10th place in the state. Outside of formal settings, Sarah has owned her own dog as well as served as the caregiver for others’ pets. She is very knowledgeable and attentive, as she has a true love for dogs. Her knowledge of breeds, care and needs is better than anyone I know. Not only will your pups love Sarah, she will love them, too!
I have known Sarah for four years. She is a high school English teacher and with summers off likes to spend a lot of her time with her dog Billie. Billie is a rescue Pomeranian that Sarah adopted and is one of the most spoiled and well taken care of dogs I have ever met. Sarah would be perfect for this dog walking position as she has shown great responsibility in both her profession and her responsibility as a dog owner.
