I use common sense to play, love, snuggle, and speak dog. Mine is very well behaved AND I believe he can set a good example of what is expected in my house. I'm not a strong physical discipliner, but I'm very good at communicating "no". I focus on energy release, food, then quiet time. Pets are allowed on furniture unless stated otherwise by owner. I grew up owning a miniature Australian Shepherd, named Rowdy. I trained him, walked him, and was constantly making sure he was happy. I finally got a new dog after college and did serious research before rescuing. I'm familiar with pitbulls, boxers, full and miniature Australian shepherds, papillons, Chihuahuas, labs, retrievers, border Collies, shelties, corgis, vizlas, ridgebacks, shitzus, dachshunds, purebreds, and mutts.
