I grew up with a family of pets and have had two dogs of my own since 2005; my current dog is a small, young-acting senior. I have helped home 7 puppies, have administered medication to my own and friends' pets, and am an advocate and learner of positive reinforcement training. Each dog's personality is different, and I treat them all with respect and love that caters to their needs. I have cared for many dogs of various ages and sizes, both in my home and in their homes, and now welcome one friendly dog at a time for boarding in my apartment. My favorite activity is long walks with my dog throughout this dog-friendly neighborhood, or on special "car walks" to local forest preserves or the lakefront. I also often let the dogs into the backyard to play, sniff, and of course "do their business." If I do have to leave them behind for a teaching day (typically 8 hours, twice a week), my dog's walker, who is a 5-star Rover sitter (,https://www.rover.com/members/kelly-r-full-time-pet-nanny-since-2017/?service_type=drop-in&frequency=onetime&pet_type=dog) usually can take your dog along for a midday walk that day (we would need to meet ahead of time).
