Pet care experience

I work in Oxford as a gardener three days a week, and I look after dogs on my days off. My goal when looking after your pet is to make them feel like they're spending a weekend with their grandparent: sure they'll be happy to see you when you're back, but we'll go on so many fun adventures together they won't have time to miss you! My accommodation does not allow dogs so unfortunately I cannot offer boarding, but I am happy to pet sit in your house, or do drop ins or dog walks. I have experience with both cat sitting and dog sitting (and looking after horses and birds but I don't know if that's relevant). There are five dogs I regularly look after, two of them seniors and the rest quite young dogs. Most of them are energetic and sociable, but I also look after some who are a bit more shy. I know how to gently introduce myself, and shy animals often take to me quickly as well. Of course I would not just look after your pet, but also keep your home safe and clean. If you'd like I would be able to do some garden maintenance as well. I think providing enrichment for pets is important, so I would make sure your furry companion does not get bored (but if your pet doesn't have a lot of energy and prefers to take it easy, that is fine by me too). I am also happy to continue any training routine you follow with your pet, or introduce more training. I have taught dogs new tricks and recall in the past. With regards to covid, I tend to err on the side of caution and I would be happy to take any measures on top of those required by law to ensure you feel safe and comfortable with me caring for your pet.

Sarah did a great job, we met her first, she met the cats, she is a very friendly person and looked after the cats really well, they were not stressed when we returned which is a great feeling knowing your cats are in safe hands

Sarah has house sat for Marley 3 times now,one at short notice. He is an ex-rescue so is bit shy of new people and she has been very patient and understanding with him. Have photos/updates during time I am away so know all ok. Definitely recommend.

Sarah did a great job and gelled really well with my dog. We had an initial meeting in a park so that she could see how she and ‘Eddie’ got on, followed by a visit to the house to see how things work. She visited Eddie two days in a row and spent some good quality time with him. Very happy! Will definitely ask her again!

Sarah was a fantastic dog sitter, if I could give her more than 5 stars I would! She immediately established a friendly, calm, and appropriately controlled connection with my dog Ollie during our meet & greet session. She was great with understanding specific instructions for his care and giving his daily medication. She provided regular updates and adorable pictures while I was away, and even cleaned and cleared up the guest room before I returned (not to mention the wonderful jar of homemade jam left for us!). We'll definitely be using Sarah for dog sitting again! :D

I love to take dogs on long walks! I'm happy to adjust the walk to the dog of course. We'll go explore one of the many parks in Oxford, and maybe make some new friends! Afterwards we can relax together and have a cuddle.
