Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Sarah and I've been surrounded by dogs since birth, primarily larger breeds. My mother also rescues and helps rehabilitate small wild animals. I love caring for and rescuing all types of animals! I've owned 3 dogs myself and have trained each of them as certified pet therapy animals. They visited nursing homes and were integrated within the high school where I'm employed, in a pet therapy program I created. Currently, I volunteer with Dog Star Rescue as a Kennel Team Coordinator. My responsibilities as a coordinator include training new volunteers, track and coordinate dogs coming and going from transport, adoption, or foster care, and help organize events and kennel procedures. As a member of the kennel team, I've received training on dog handling skills and behavioral techniques applied when handling and walking the dogs that reside at our headquarters site. My kennel duties include feeding, exercising, and training the dogs, attending to their specific needs to prepare them for adoption. I am certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. I'm very reliable and committed to my jobs and responsibilities. I will treat your animals as if they were my own family members! Contact me if you are in need of drop in visits or dog walks!
Reviews
Sarah has been the absolute best when it comes to my 2 dogs. She really takes the time to walk them, care and love them as her own. She is also very good at communicating with you and might possibly take the best pictures of your pet around. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone look for a dog walker!
I have had the pleasure of knowing Sarah for over 10 years both as a friend and former colleague. Sarah would often take her therapy dogs to the high school where I taught and where she still teaches. On numerous occasions, I personally witnessed her giving her pets love and comfort. They always look healthy and happy. Her knowledge of dog care, and her devotion and love of her pets are beyond question. We have a family pet who is a special part of our family. I would not hesitate to have Sarah walk and/or care for our beloved Coco. That is the biggest compliment I can pay Sarah.
I believe Sarah would be amazing at providing pet care. She has been a dog owner for over 15 years and has proven that she can provide the best care for any pet. She's very knowledgeable and takes the time to train her pets. She volunteers at a dog shelter during her free time as well. I've seen Sarah interact with her pets and she provides them a loving home with lots of walks, hikes, pool/pond days as well as plenty of toys. She is trustworthy, reliable, and responsible. She would be a great addition to the rover community.
I met Sarah about 9 years ago, and in that time, have watched her be the best rescue dog mom ever to Bo, Duke and Willow. Bo and Duke have passed on, and Willow is Sarah’s current dog. It didn’t take long for me to witness Sarah’s heartfelt attentiveness, compassion, patience, love and loyalty towards animals, both domestic and in the wild. She currently volunteers at a local rescue center and has commented frequently that she would like to bring the dogs home. Sarah’s teaching expertise is in Health and PE. Her dogs have always been exercised, multiple times a day, and have lived longer because of the healthy lifestyle she believes all dog deserves. Sarah would be an excellent addition to your company. I would absolutely have zero reservations about leaning my dog in her care. She has often joked that she loves animals more than people 🤣 Her goal, after retirement from teaching, would be to pursue her dream of working with animals.

I am willing to offer potty breaks, feedings, or to exercise and play with your dog/cat. I am willing to take your dog on short or long walks, play in a fenced in area, or other areas of the home. I am also willing to comfort them or simply keep them company with pets or snuggles.
Information Sarah C. would like to know about your pet
It is important for me to know if your dog has any special needs, requires special instructions, or is responsive to specific commands. It is also helpful to know what might stress or trigger your dog to be reactive, both positively and negatively (i.e. other dogs, people, wildlife, loud noises, etc.). Lastly, does your dog walk using a harness or leash only? Are they treated motivated?
A typical day
I'm willing to follow any instructions you have with regard to dog walks and exercise. Activities that I enjoy doing with dog's that I sit for include playing fetch, long walks, exploring nature's scenary and smells, mental challenges like hiding and finding treats, or cuddles and snuggles.
