My husband and I are certified professional service dog trainers with an accredited organization and have 40+ years experience combined. We both grew up with dogs and are experienced with many different breeds. Prior to being a dog trainer, I worked in a vet clinic looking after dogs & cats and in a pet store looking after small animals, (rats, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, etc) reptiles, birds/parrots and fish. We have 2 children, ages 12 and 14 years old, that respect dogs both big and small and are taking after their parents with training/teaching tricks. We live in a quiet subdivision in a 2 storey detached home with a fully fenced yard. During the day, with both of us working full time, your dog would be more then welcome to accompany us at work as long as they are crate trained and up to date on vaccines. During our lunch, your dog would have fun playing and socializing with other pet/working dogs or going for a walk in the local park. Otherwise, they would be left at home with our resident dog in their own room together with a walk/run in the evenings. We have a video camera in the "dog room" that we can view on our phone for when we are out running an errand and the dogs are home alone. We can view it at any time with audio to make sure the border isn't showing signs of stress or separation anxiety. We often look after senior dogs and because of this, we keep playtime activity to a minimum while indoors. With our full time job as service dog trainers, we also work with a breeder training puppies on a part time basics to be good pet dogs. We regularly have a pup at our house for a duration of 4-8 weeks. We are very familiar with crate training, house training, bell training and basic obedience for dogs of all ages including puppies. We would require an extra $10 per day if your dog is under 1 year of age to accommodate the extra training. In addition to dog boarding, we also offer "Critter Care." In our home for $10 a day or yours for $20 a visit. We can check in on your cat or small animal to feed and change litter/bedding. I have a certificate for completing the St. John Ambulance Pet First Aid course which is valid until 2022. The course outlined emergency care to aid in treatment prior to the visit to the Veterinarian. We look forward in getting to know you and are excited to meet your four legged family member.
