I love dogs, cats and the outdoors! I'm a professional hiking, snowshoe and cross country ski guide here in Jackson, WY, so I know all the good places for a pup to play. I also have years of experience caring for dogs of all types, ranging from actual sled dogs, to elderly dogs in need of extra help getting around, to a bichon frise with loads of attitude. I can take your dog on adventures while you hit the slopes, that way everyone ends the day equally tuckered out. Or I can stay home and snuggle with him/her while you spend a few days out of town. I look forward to meeting your pup!

In addition to romping around outdoors, I enjoy working with dogs on behavior and obedience. I'm currently training my roommate's Aussie on reactivity and heeling on walks (treats have done wonders!). "Touch," "find it," and good recall are other go-to's. Overall, I will treat your dog like I would my own - good boundaries, and lots of fun and love.

I'll need to know: -Dietary requirements -How good is their recall? -Behavioral issues (EX: reactivity toward people or dogs, an inclination to run out the door, countersurfing or chewing tendencies) -For overnight stays: routines I should follow (breakfast/dinnertime, walk times/lengths, bedtime, etc.)
A typical day
All dog care will be tailored to your dog. If he/she likes long walks, we can find a longer trail on the outside of town. If he/she is working on a specific command, we can spend time concentrating on learning it. If he/she likes playing with a specific human or dog friend, we can arrange a visit. And of course, if he/she wants to snuggle, we'll settle in for some Netflix.

Availability
Starting on Nov 24, I work Friday through Tuesday from about 9am-3pm as a ski instructor at JHMR. Typically, Wednesdays and Thursdays are open for mid-day care and any day is open for overnight stays. When I'm teaching on the mountain, I'm able to take animals out for walks before and after work but I cannot commit to mid-day walks.
