I'm fairly new to Petaluma, and unfortunately live in an apartment that does not allow pets, so I am DYING to get some fun furry time in whenever I can! I used to live on a farm/hatchery in Washington where I tended 3 goats, 4 doggies, 9 chickens, 13 rabbits, and a betta fish named Gandalf! Too much fun! I have had many fur babies since I was a child, my last recently passed (RIP Pancho) and it was rough! He was an amazingly intelligent Aussie Shepherd that needed lots of attention all the time! He returned the favor with sweet cuddles, 24/7 protection and doggie kisses. I even used to make his doggie food and treats. About me: I am annoyingly responsible, I own my SUV that doggies can ride in, and I am not afraid of picking up poop! Dog poop, that is. :D I just had my first human baby and am eager to introduce her to some furry friends. In the past, I have cared for sick dogs that require medication administered with great attention to detail, dogs with disabilities and special equipment, and even traumatized aggressive dogs with behavioral issues. I have been an outdoor educator for youth for almost a decade, where I teach primitive survival and outdoor skills, along with guided backpacking and kayaking tours! It's pretty awesome. I specialize in wild foods, plant identification, fishing, and wildcraft. I am a firm believer that dirt don't hurt, but I also know how to clean up and stay tidy as well. I have learned to understand and respect the unique bond between man and dog firsthand throughout all of my travels and experiences. Since I was a baby, I have had an enormous fondness for the outdoors, however, I will never turn down an air conditioned room on a hot summer day! It's all quite amazing when you think about it.
