Trustworthy, Enthusiastic, Reliable

Pet care experience

I have 20 years of personal and professional experience with dogs and cats of all breeds, temperaments, and ages in a variety of settings. I have always had dogs in the family, since the age of four. This has translated into a lifelong love for animals, and years of experience walking, feeding, training, exercising, and caring for dogs. I have always been compelled to work with animals, which is why I decided to get my degree in Assistance Dog Studies from Bergin University of Canine Studies. This was a hands-on degree program training and fostering Service Dogs, and learning about dog behavior, kennel management, and canine health. Having dogs of my own, I understand and completely respect how important it is to make sure your dog is in competent, trustworthy, and caring hands! I want my clients to feel reassured that I will always keep their pet’s individual needs in mind, and tend to them with the utmost attention and compassion!

We were so grateful to Sarah for dropping in on our two cats for a week. Because the cats are new housemates we wanted to make sure they got enough love and attention to keep the peace while we were away. Sarah was reliable, attentive and a great communicator. We hope to work together again in the future!

I have known Sarah for over a y ear now and in that time she has shown herself to be dependable, and knowledgeable in training and caring for dogs. She fostered two different dogs while at Bergin University and both of them have continued in the program to be successful service dogs. She is hard working and dedicated to any project she is tasked to accomplish. If I where asked to hire her I would do so based on the actions I have seen her take in caring for her assigned dogs, her class tasks and those of the clients assigned to her. She would be a fine addition to anyones staff.

Sarah is far more qualified than being just a dog sitter! As a classmate of hers, at Bergin University for Canine Studies Assistance Dog Degree Program, I saw in Sarah, an incredible dog handler, trainer and teammate. The care the dogs that were assigned to her received was always impeccable and she honestly was one of the best trainers to come out of Bergin! I would trust her with my personal service dog’s life in her hands, her abilities are top-notch! I'd have her doing far more than just puppy sitting, she's an incredible asset and would be a great addition to your team.

Sarah is an awesome dog caregiver! I witnessed her superb caretaking skills firsthand when we were at Bergin University of Canine Studies together. Sarah possessed awesome communication with the dog she fostered, often offering him potty breaks when he was restless or taking him for a short walk when he needed a break from training. She also remained calm when he wasn’t responding to what she was asking and then also reset him with silly movements or a fun toy. Sarah also offered much verbal praise to this dog which made him aware of what behaviors he should offer more often. All of these pieces together made them such a perfect team!

Information Sarah A. would like to know about your pet

- Does your dog have a sensitive stomach, any dietary restrictions, or special dietary needs? - Does your dog tend to get into things they should not (e.g. digging in the trash, eating poop, gets into human food if left around) (this is just a safety precaution, so I know to keep things carefully stored away, or to keep an extra close eye on the dog to avoid choking or eating things they should not) - Are there any places or situations I should avoid (e.g. “no dog parks,” “doesn’t like large groups of people,” “doesn’t like other dogs,” “not good with children,” “is afraid of loud noises,” etc.) - What is your dogs feeding schedule? - Does you dog have any health conditions that I should be aware of? - What is your policy about pets on the furniture? - Does your dog have a favorite toy, or game? - What is your dog’s favorite way of showing/receiving affection? - Are there any places your dog/cat does not like to be pet? Or any things in general that upset or agitate your pet? - Is there anything in particular that you are working on with your dog (e.g: no begging, loose leash walking, no jumping)

A typical day

I would love to know what your dog’s favorite outdoor activity is, so that I can incorporate this into my visit! If your dog has a special place that they really enjoy going for a walk, or a favorite toy/game they like to play with outside, I think it’s important to make the dog have a positive experience. And, of course, there will always be plenty of belly rubs, head scratches, ear rubs, bum scratches (etc.) for your pet!
