Dogs of all sizes and temperaments!

Pet care experience

I have grown up with animals my entire life. My first step into the professional animal care world, was at a doggy daycare facility. I worked with dogs of all sizes and personalities, and apprenticed under a CPDT-certified dog trainer. This experience gave me the footing I needed to begin working in animal rescue. I now work for the SPCA of Texas as a Lead Animal Care Specialist. I am passionate about dog and cat enrichment through walks, puzzles, and training. I understand the different triggers that may cause dogs to become reactive, and am comfortable safely redirecting them in a Fear-Free manner.

Sara is a very responsible and loving pet mom. She goes above and beyond to ensure that the pets in her care are well cared for and attended to. She pup sits for my husky and she always comes back clean and happy (she handles the grooming for her). I have no worries about how she is being taken care of when she is with Sara. I would definitely recommend her for your pet watching and walking needs!

Safety, trust & environment

I have two dogs who are allowed safe access to the living room when I am not home. I have a pet cam to keep an eye on them. They are also crate trained, in the event that maintenance needs to stop by when we are not home. I use gentle-leaders and/or harnesses when walking my own dogs, so I am familiar with a variety of dog walking tools and can accommodate according to your preferences.

Information Sara W. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if your dog has any triggers or reactivity, so that I can be mindful when walking them at public parks. I also need to know if they have any conditions, or are under treatment-such as heartworm treatment, where I need to limit their physical activity and focus on mental enrichment instead.

A typical day

I believe physical and mental enrichment are both very important to a dogs quality of life. I can take dogs on long sniff walks at Clear Creek, Southlakes, Wiggly Field, or any of your dogs favorite places in the area. I also enjoy creating foraging boxes out of tissue paper, cardboard boxes, and a few different treats. Dogs enjoy hunting for the treats and are usually tuckered out after about 20 minutes
