I’ve always been a passionate animal lover. I share my home with both a dog and a cat, and while my pup has made it clear he’s happiest as an only dog, pet sitting gives me the opportunity to spend time with even more wonderful animals. As a conservationist and vegetarian, caring for animals is something that’s deeply important to me. I’ve helped care for friends’ pets and homes for years, and I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I enjoy keeping pets in their familiar routines and surroundings, giving them plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and snuggles. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible—for both you and your pets.

When caring for pets in your home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their familiar environment. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and household routines. As someone who shares my home with both a dog and a cat, I understand that every pet has a unique personality and needs. I have experience caring for friends’ pets and homes and treat every home with the same respect and care I would expect for my own. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pets are happy and well cared for.

Our dogs are sometimes terrible. They don't mean to be but they're all herding breeds and all a little bit left of center. But they LOVE Sara. They knew right away that she was a good person and someone that they could trust and be themselves around. The fluffy balls of herding anxiety are beside themselves during their time with her, and completely heart broken when she leaves. Sara is one of the best people we know, and one of a handful of people we trust to take care of our family when we have to travel. We cannot recommend her enough.
I have known and worked with Sara for over 20 years. She is a meticulous, thoughtful mother, grandmother, and pet owner who loves animals and keeps a neat house. Anyone would be lucky to have her caring for their pets and home; there is truly no need to worry.
I am almost certain Sara loves animals more than humans. She took excellent care of Buttercup and Phoebe. Very patient, affectionate and communicative. She asked all the right questions and made sure to send updates. I know my pups were spoiled rotten.
I highly recommend Sara! She is a loving and proud owner of her own handsome furbaby and takes care of others as she does her own. She is dependable, punctual, compassionate and honest. She treats others as she would like to be treated and takes care of other people's animals as her own. My shih tzu loves Sara and is always happy to see her - and when my pup is happy, I am happy! You won't regret having Sara care for your furbabies - she will be a lifelong favorite for sure!

Schedule
My schedule allows me to provide reliable care before and after work, as well as evenings, weekends, and overnight stays. I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, which gives me additional flexibility during those days. Tuesday through Thursday, I work in the office from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you’re located near the downtown Roanoke area, I may be able to stop by during my lunch break when needed. My goal is to maintain your pet’s routine as closely as possible and ensure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship while you’re away.
