Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs: black and tan hounds, beagles, English springer spaniels, Brittany spaniels, and an abundance of lovely mutts. In graduate school, I pet-sat and house-sat for various professors in St. Louis, MO. They were mostly elderly dogs and cats with to-do care lists as long as my arm, so I got pretty good at tricking them into taking their meds and dealing with basic grooming issues that can come with age. Since moving to El Paso in 2013, I've had the pleasure of caring for a variety of dogs (from chihuahuas to boxers) and cats. I have no pets of my own, but would love to help you take care of yours! **Please note: for the safety and comfort of everyone involved, I will not schedule a stay until we have had an initial meet and greet.

I felt very comfortable knowing my pets we're in the care of Sarah! She was very accommodating to my change of plans, and very considerate to the household. Daily updates of the pets gave me peace of mind that they were in good hands. I would definitely book Sara for a second stay when needed.

I will ask about your dog's schedule, needs, preferences, and any special concerns that you may have about diet, walks, toys, preferred play/exercise, and so forth. For example, some owners are happy to play tug-o-war with a toy while others prefer not to encourage it--depends on the dog, the breed, and their past/surroundings. All of this helps me to make sure that you and your pet(s) will be as happy and as comfortable as possible while they are in my care. I have no breed preferences.
A typical day
During our meet and greet, I will ask you about preferred routes in the neighborhood and what I should know about the dog when s/he is out--how they react to other dogs, etc. I confess I cannot run due to injuries, but long brisk walks are certainly in my repertoire.
