Pet care experience
Overnight or daytime in my spacious home. I have been dog-sitting several years and my clients, both animal and human, love me! I treat your family member like my own pet and with respect for your wishes. Your dog a bed sleeper? Ok with me. He's not allowed on the bed? Then I will keep that rule in my house. I love dogs and cats and have owned many through the years. Let me help free your mind from worry about your precious pet. About this sitter: I work at home as a writer and dog sitter after a career that included writing for newspapers and handling public relations for companies. Dog sitting is perfect because I am at home every day and evening. I enjoy reading, following the news, learning about technology and being creative. Why I love dog sitting I have loved dogs all my life. I have owned some wonderful dogs, although I do not have one now. Smokey, a German Shepard/collie mix, was my first companion when I was a little girl. She taught me that dogs are smart, loving, and the best friend you could have. About my yard We have a beautiful yard of one third acre, with full grown trees and flowers. It is not fenced in, but the dogs I sit love to take a walk all around the yard. My experience administering medication Yes, I have had to administer kidney dialysis medicine to a cat before on a daily basis. Also, I have had to encourage dogs to take pills many times in the past, as well as administer ear medicine.
Reviews
Toby & Tubbs had a great stay with Sara. They were well taken care of, and seemed very happy. She sent me updates and pictures everyday, so i knew they were ok. I would definitely use her again!
Sara Was Fantastic with Lexi over Thanksgiving! Booking her again for the holidays!
Boomer had a great stay with Sara. It was his first time being away from us for a long period of time with a stranger. She was very patient with him while he adjusted to being at her house. She sent daily updates and always responded quickly if I checked in on him.
Sara was great with Ivory! She sent me pictures and updates each day. Ivory was very well taken care of!

Information Sara L. would like to know about your pet
My main concern is that I can't take a biter or an aggressive dog. (Because of the statistics on bites from pit bulls, I have to decline pit bulls.) I prefer dogs that are less than 50 pounds unless they are senior dogs. Senior dogs, because they are older, are less likely to pull hard on the leash during walks. Usually that doesn't matter, but we do have rabbits in the area, so a dog naturally takes off and I have to be stronger than the dog, lol. What I need to know is phone number and email for owner, phone number for the vet, and to be assured that the dog is up on rabies and other shots. I also need to know the feeding/walking/sleeping schedule for the dog. I like to know about the personality of the dog so that I can make him or her comfortable in our home. Does the dog have any special needs or considerations? I do not have a breed preference.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks One longer walk in the cool of the evening, with shorter trips outside during the day through our quiet neighborhood and our yard. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Wherever he/she is comfy! In or out of the bed, or in a crate if the dog is crate trained. Time I'll spend with your dog Hours! I am with the dog all day and evening. I enjoy having them with me. If they are crate trained for sleeping at night, but are scared to be alone, I will place the crate in our bedroom. Also, if they are used to sleeping in a bed, I can sleep with the dog in the bed in our guest bedroom.
