I am an animal LOVER and have a literal menagerie at my home. My current family includes 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 quaker parrots, a fish tank, a flock of very spoiled chickens, and my teenage daughter. Our large back yard is fenced in, and we live on a quiet street that is perfect for walks with the pups. I only pet sit from one household at a time (ex. 2 dogs that live together) to ensure that your pets get all of the care and attention needed while they are away from their family. Your pet will not just be stuck in a cage at my home. Dogs: For dogs, after adequate socialization time with my own dogs, they will be treated like my own! Meaning, they will enjoy lots of indoor and outdoor (weather appropriate) play time, lots of cuddles, treats and chewies (all approved by you), and several walks per day (based on the dog's needs). I provide crates for small-medium dogs to give them a place that is "their own," where they can have nap time or quiet time. I do crate unfamiliar dogs when I am not at home, but as I learn that your dog can be trusted to not eat my furniture, I provide them more freedom, both when I'm home and when I'm not. Cats: Since cats are typically not super social with unfamiliar people and critters, I provide your cat a "safe space" (my spare bedroom) where they can relax, but also come and go as they please. The dogs are not allowed in that room, and the room is furnished with cat furniture, litter boxes, a food/water station, and enrichment (toys, a window, etc.). This space is kitty accessible via a small pet door, so if your kitty wants to interact, they won't feel trapped. I also have space in my house for birds, rodents, exotic animals and more.
