Pet care experience
Hi! I volunteered with a rescue group as a dog foster mom last summer, but I’ve needed to take a break financially. (I had two full-time fosters, both pit mixes, both the greatest & most cuddly little things.) A friend told me about this app, and I thought it’d be a great way to get my puppy fix while I save up a bit! I work regular hours (9-6) irregular days (Tues-Sat), *but* Saturdays are always from home/remote. I’d really like to do some house sitting, since it gives me more time with the dogs, of course. For that service I am free after 6pm Fridays through Monday evenings (or possibly early Tuesday morning). I have experience with basic command training and leash training, using gentle corrections if needed for more seamless walks. I usually break a treat into a bunch of small pieces to reinforce commands on the sidewalk (“sit” at a red light, etc). I’m conscious of meeting other dogs on the sidewalk since I won’t always know if they’re friendly with one another (and it’s a bit unnatural for pups to meet so face-to-face like that). Otherwise I’d love to do some drop-in play dates for doggos that need a little daytime attention, or walks on demand. Other key info: I’m 30 and a clean, responsible type who otherwise enjoys podcasts, long walks and DIY projects.

Sara is a true dog lover! Her life experience has been defined, in part, by her positive relationships with her dog and our dogs. As she has grown into a successful professional career, Sara has made the commitment to foster rescue dogs in her home until they can find their forever family. She is caring, trustworthy and reliable and you will feel comfortable leaving your dog(s) in her care. You can count on Sara to communicate updates and provide peace of mind. You and your dog(s) will love getting to know Sara and her compassion for animals.
I lived with Sara when she brought home Eileen Collins, a pitbull-boxer mix who was the first foster dog we had at the house. I saw her take care of regular meals for Eileen, making sure we always had the right type of food, along with special frozen peanut butter treats for the crate and arranging afternoon walks when she had to work from the office. She helped give Eileen a loving home for three months until a family adopted her & would make a great sitter or walker!

Information Sara B. would like to know about your pet
No breed preferences. Would like to know how the dog gets along with strangers and what stresses them out (loud noises, trucks, etc).
A typical day
With the foster dogs, we skipped dog parks due to the risk from other dogs, but if you have a regular spot I’m happy to bring the dog there and play a bit. Or else we can walk around the nearest human park, or any favorite neighborhood routes.
