A dog walker and dog sitter since 2003, I have 20 years experience, overall, with dogs. I spent 2 years as the Shelter Manager at a Humane Society and also graduated from the Canine Behavior Academy in Novato, CA to become a dog trainer and behaviorist. I have worked with dogs on everything from basic obedience to specific behavior modification; always practicing reward-based, positive reinforcement. I have also spent nearly 20 years as a volunteer at a variety of Animal Shelters and Humane Society's. I have experience with senior dogs and dogs with special needs. I am patient and considerate with dogs and a firm believer in giving each individual dog what it needs, whether it be keeping them active and engaged or allowing them quiet time and a soft spot to nap. I am careful to help every dog adjust while they are with me to ensure they feel safe and secure. I am an avid hiker and will bring your dog with me and my dog on local hikes and runs, unless of course your dog prefers to lounge on the sofa! However your dog prefers to spend it's day, is what he/she gets! Whether Boarding or Doggie Day Care, your dog will always be supervised while it has access to the fenced-in backyard and playing with other dogs. I am a life long "Dog Mom", currently Mom to a lovable Lab named Wally who is very dog and human friendly. I will treat your beloved pet with love and care and show them a really great time while we are together! I look forward to meeting you and your pooch very soon! **Please note: If you are boarding and you drop off in the am and pick up in the pm, there will be a daycare charge. Boarding fees are for a 26 hour maximum period. ***All dogs must be on flea preventative (I can provide preventative for $25 fee) and current on vaccinations.*** ***All dogs must be dog and human friendly and not be protective of their territory or have “stranger danger”. The backyard is fenced and “pet safe” but it is a shared backyard with another tenant who also has a dog***

Sandy was amazing. We always feel guilty leaving our nervous dog when we go on vacation, but looking at the pics/vids that Sandy sent, Winnie had just as good of a time as us!
Due to a last-minute cancellation I was looking for a suitable dog walker for my two dogs, one of which has fairly crippling anxiety and does not do well with strangers. Sandy stepped in and saved the day, not only agreeing to help on short notice but also doing the impossible - she made my fearful pooch trust her enough to take treats from her hand after just meeting that day! This may not seem like much of an accomplishment for a normal dog, but for Boo it was groundbreaking. Thank you!!

I would like to know your dog's experience being around another dog. Does your dog share toys or prefer to have their own toys? Does your dog have any fears or anything that makes them nervous? (postal workers, loud trucks, fireworks) In the case where I have to slip out for a short while, how does your dog handle being alone in the house? Any separation anxiety? Is your dog crated at night or when alone in the house? We are deep into flea and tick season, is your dog on preventative? What is your dog's schedule, how often does it go out during the day, how much exercise each day and what is the feeding schedule?
A typical day
While staying with me, your dog will be a welcome member of my home. He/she will come along on hikes to Tilden Park, Redwood Regional Park, Las Trampas, Mt. Tam and other local hot spots! Or, if they prefer to lounge around instead... that's good too! There is a fully fenced backyard and a warm, sunny deck for your dog to relax and do some sunbathing. Your dog will always be supervised when in the backyard and/or on the deck. **Please note: If you are boarding and you drop off in the am and pick up in the pm, there will be a daycare charge. Boarding fees are for a 26 hour maximum period.
