Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Sandy and I live with my little dog Yoda. I fell in love with the little guy several years back working as a volunteer at the Oregon Humane Society. He was a bit of a rascal, since he spent the better part of five years fending for himself on the streets of LA. It took a lot of patience, perseverance and love to get the little guy to trust me and to be the upstanding dog he is today. After more than a twenty-five year career in the hospitality industry I recently decided to embark on a new adventure and work online from home. While, Yoda and I have a grand time together here at home we both thought it would be fun to meet new friends and host some sleepovers with other pups in the city. As a frequent traveler myself, I know how comforting it is to have a safe and loving home for your dog to stay. Your dog will be treated as a part of our family and be surrounded with love and affection. Our home is ten minutes from the Portland International Airport so it easy for anyone who is getting ready to fly out.
Reviews
Sandy took incredible care of our furbaby with fairly late notice. Extremely appreciative of how accommodating and communicative she was. Our pup had a fantastic time. Would recommend her in a heartbeat.
We are so grateful we found Sandy for our fur babies, Cava and Lu, after recently moving back here. Sandy was accommodating with drop off and pick up times, communicates quickly and often and sent us fun pictures and videos of the girls with other dogs that were staying there. We highly recommend her and will be booking with her again real soon!
Sandy was great! Would definitely recommend!
We feel so fortunate to have found Sandy! Her manner and experience was just what our 12 year old dog needed to be okay staying with someone other than family for the first time in the 10 years we have had him. An even bigger challenge is that he likes other animals more than people so his circle of accepted humans is very small. Byron was completely himself when we picked him up, not at all anxious or stressed. Sandy is amazing and we are relieved to have found someone to care for our pups when we are away.

Information Sandy B. would like to know about your pet
We live in a great tree-lined family neighborhood in the Vernon neighborhood of NE Portland, ideal for walking, with a nice backyard that is totally fenced. We typically take daily walks for about an hour, which works to be about a little less than three miles. I like checking out the gardens in my neighborhood and Yoda likes to sniff test every corner and tree along the way. We try to go either early in the morning or late in the evening to take advantage of the coolest parts of the day. We have two off leash dog parks, Alberta & Fernhill, within walking distance. Our walk schedule, definitely takes into consideration weather, the age of the dog and their level of energy & stamina.
A typical day
We have a dog friendly home with hardwood floors, air conditioning and comfy dog beds. While my head says that dogs should not be on furniture or the bed, my heart typically vetoes this rule in favor of cuddle time. Truthfully, you’ll find Yoda sitting next to me as he is now, on the couch and under the covers at night. With this being said, I think it is important to have continuity between your home and ours. So, if you have rules and or expectations for your dog’s behavior, like sleeping arrangements, just let me know and we will make it happen. My philosophy on discipline is that dogs are going to be who they are. My responsibility as the human is to prevent bad choices before they occur. I don’t get mad, yell, hit or do intimidating or scary behaviors. Naughty choices and “accidents” are part of the life of a dog. We quickly move on when they occur.
