Pet care experience
I worked in the doggy daycare/boarding/training industry for six years, so I am very experienced with dog body language and behavior. I love every dog I meet, and am comfortable with any breed or size. I like to enforce and strengthen good behavior in positive, rewarding ways, and prevent unwanted behavior with alternate stimulation and distraction. All dog behavior has a reason, and I strive to figure out what the dog is trying to tell me through the behavior so I can help him or her succeed. The 11 years experience I listed was for my own dog, who recently passed away. I also have another dog who is 10 years old. I had each of them since they were 10 month old puppies, and they have taught me so much about how unique and special the human/dog bond can be.

I have no breed preferences, and I do no mind managing medications or dogs with special needs. I ask that you let me know if your dog has any kind of allergies (food, insect bites, etc.) so I can be sure they remain safe in my care. If your dog has a bite history, that is not necessarily a deal-breaker, but I will not look after a dog that bites unprovoked. This is a rare occurrence in a healthy-minded dog, as no dog bites or wants to bite without a reason. I will require proof of current rabies vaccination before I agree to care for your dog. I also ask that your dog be vaccinated for bordetella, as I have the health of two senior animals (my dog and my cat) and my roommate's dog to consider. All pets in the household are up to date on rabies, DHLPP and bordetella. I can provide proof upon request.
A typical day
We will go on walks, play ball in the yard, play with toys inside, practice tricks we already know, and maybe even learn some new ones for fun! We will also enforce and try to improve upon any specific training you've been working on at home or with your trainer.
