Samsara and Layla Dog Care
Pet care experience
I came to be an expert dog carer as the owner of a Pomeranian named Chewy for 12+ years. I was an active and doting dog mom for all of the phases of Chewy's life. I learned a great deal which I apply when caring for other people’s dogs. As Chewy mom, I took him to puppy training classes at PetSmart and taught him all the lessons a puppy needs. I followed a regimen of annual shots/monthly flea/heart guard medicines (with Banfield Insurance). Chewy and I had our share of visits to the vet to have teeth pulled, kennel cough, limping, Giardia, etc. over 12+ years. As he aged, Chewy lost his hearing and became incontinent and I learned about senior pet care. I used doggy day care services when I worked long hours, dog boarding services during overnight travel and frequented dog parks/beaches in our communities several times per week to socialize and exercise. From these experiences, I learned what it meant to care for a dog safely, while being social with other people and dogs. Aside from my experience, I am very in tune with dogs, paying attention to anything that may be wrong and how s/he is feeling. My daughter Layla spent most of her life with Chewy and is an affectionate and knowledgeable caregiver. She also had a dog bestie named Rex, a beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who passed prematurely. My daughter Layla and I have been dog-sitting in our neighborhood as we love small dogs. We are ready to expand to other families. Layla is working hard to save for a dog of her own. Layla always says that our superpower is LOVE. We know we can provide your dog babies a safe and loving home away from home.
Reviews

Samsara was amazing! Chino and I met with her prior to the scheduled drop off date to see if it was a good match. After speaking with her and seeing Chino’s reaction, I felt comfortable leaving him in her care.
Samsara did a great job watching my two dogs. She took pictures every day put my mind at ease because I have an older dog. I would use her again for future trips.
Samsara and Layla were absolutely thorough, amazing, and attentive to our fur babies. My one year old Shih Tzu can be a bit skittish and slow to warm but when we arrived for pick up he ran back in the house to Samsara! I picked up two happy, healthy dogs and I am grateful!

Safety, trust & environment
We live in a large 3000+ square foot house on a quiet cul-de-sac with established trees, large one-acre/half-acre lots and no through traffic. We do not have any pets and know the dogs in our community. We walk our leashed doggie guests around our community. Doggie guests sleep in crates overnight. A good portion of their day is spent outside of their crate but contained in a part of the house in a family setting (e,g, watching tv in the sitting room or hanging in the kitchen while we prepare meals).

Information Samsara H. would like to know about your pet
We want our doggie guests to have a great stay. Please let us know if your dog has any special needs, likes/dislikes and regular routine. We have experience with medications in pill/liquid form. We have cared for dogs who are puppies, seniors and/or sick. Please send a copy of shot records esp. rabies using the app or post under the profile of your pet for repeat customers for every stay. We prefer doggie guests who wear a collar with a dog tag in case of any escapes/emergencies. Please send your dog with leash, poop bags, food, treats, meds/supplements, hygiene supplies (if applicable), dog bed, calming chews (if they are anxious) and owner's t-shirt that smells like owner (to comfort doggie guest during separation, if needed). We have plenty of bowls.
A typical day
We walk our doggie guests in our neighborhood several times per day. We live on a cul-de-sac and have access to sidewalks and paved trails. Our doggie guests usually eat 1-2 times per day depending on their routine. They drink water every time they are walked but have access to water throughout the day. Some dogs like to play with dog toys and we have plenty of those in the house. Some dogs need more affection and these dogs will spend some time on our laps while we watch tv/work on the computer. Doggie guests sleep in a dog crate.

Availability
We are available for boarding at any time. My daughter goes to school but walks our doggie guests before and after school under my supervision. I work from home and have a flexible schedule. I enjoy bringing a doggie guest into my home office while I work, so they can nap on a dog bed. I provide owners a daily picture/update.
