Pet care experience
I grew up with a lovely mini Schnauzer in my family since I was 2. She unfortunately passed away a few years ago, and while my parents' new Shih-poo is my favorite dog, I don't live at home anymore so I've been very starved for doggy love! I love dogs of all shapes and sizes and have been caring for my dog and local neighborhood dogs since I was little. I'm a graduate school student, so I have a unique availability in between classes that means I can pay extra attention to your furry friends. I'm on the younger side, which means I'll have the energy to keep up with your doggos, but I'm also old enough to have the experience to care for them. In addition, I'm a part time nanny for children and in an education field, so care for others is really important to me. I'm really just excited to spend time with furry friends again and get to know you and your pets!

Sammie took great care of our dog while we were out of town. She gave us daily updates with pictures and was very accommodating to our dog's needs!
We’re so glad we found Sammie! She has looked after our elderly cat several times and she’s always very responsible and a great communicator! Zoe is pretty ornery but is happy to have Sammie stop in to check on her. I love that she sends us photos, it’s comforting to see she’s doing fine.
Sammie and Tyler were wonderful to my Roo. From the very beginning, Sammie was communicative and accommodating, and I felt incredibly at ease watching Roo (who can be very nervous and unsure with new people) immediately wiggle-booty-walk up to both Sammie and Tyler from the start of the meet and greet. Roo currently has some special medical considerations, and Sammie was very attentive and careful to provide what she needed. When something came up and we had to arrange a different pick up time than originally planned, Sammie was very helpful and easy to work with. I would leave my baby Roo with them again in a heartbeat.
My dog is young and energetic. She needs exercise during the day. Sammie has been a trusted dog walker, coming to the house to look after my dog for some time. Sammie is reliable and sweet, and she makes sure that my dog gets the attention and exercise she needs. I would not hesitate to recommend Sammie’s care to any pet owner. Thank you!

I would love to know how the dog usually spends their time at home (lots of sleeping, lots of play, somewhere in between, etc.), how frequently they need to go out and for how long to be sufficient, how they do with interacting with any other dogs while out on walks or in the park (our complex has a lot of dogs, but they can be avoided if necessary), any training or tricks the dog has (e.g. sit, stay, shake, etc.), how well they can sleep through the night, and if they've been away from home before. I also ask the parents if there is anything specific they would like me to know that I didn't think of to ask.
A typical day
If the dog is staying with us, Tyler and I love to walk around the Boiceville complex, which is a cluster of 140 tiny houses in Brooktondale. We have 3 dog parks in this complex as well if that is something that is interesting to parents/dog.
