My name is Sami and I am a 29 year old native of the north suburbs of Chicago. I have been around dogs since before I was even born and the dog business runs in my blood! My mom owned her own dog grooming business for 37 years and retired just a few years ago. I was working at her shop as soon as I was old enough to sweep hair. I always had at least three dogs running around the house at any given time in my life. My mom actually bred one of our Airedales so I babysat thirteen puppies for the better part of fifth grade. I worked weekends in high school and additionally we groomed shelter dogs for adoption events. During my college years I volunteered with the behavioral program at the Animal Rescue League of Boston and worked in the North End (Boston's "little Italy") at a place called The Dogfather which included bathing dogs, supervising daycare, retail sales, and neighborhood walks (all responsibilities I carried over from working at my mom's shop). I've even been known to tear up at the sight of a dog wearing a sweater on a cold January day. In short, its fair to say I have a healthy obsession! I have worked in many daycares and salons over the last ten years. I would love to share my passion and expertise with my fellow dog people so that they know their furry baby is receiving the care and attention that they deserve!
