Not a Vet Tech but close

Pet care experience

I grew up on a hobby farm with beef cattle, cats, dogs, chickens, and the occasional horse or pony. My first job ever was at the stable down the road caring for young Arabian horses, and I also volunteered at the Woodbury Humane Society caring for the cats to be adopted throughout high school. I wanted to become a veterinarian after this animal-centric upbringing, so I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science degree, which I was awarded in 2017. While I didn't get into to vet school, I have since worked in the veterinary and animal medical field both caring for people's pets and advancing animal medicine. Many of my close friends are vet techs or almost-vets, so help is only a text away should I need it!

Samantha was amazing! Zeke loved getting to play at the dog park and hangout with her. He was nice and tired out at night! Thank you Samantha!

Samantha was incredibly helpful in helping take care of my dogs in a pinch! She was very responsive and kind to their needs while communicating very well back to me. I’d recommend her anytime!

Ursa loves when Sam visits. Sam will take a little time to train her as well as go on a walk, which helps to tire her out mentally as well as physically. Sam is always very communicative during her visits and will send a photo or a video each time. Definitely would recommend to any cat or dog owner out there!

I just have 2 cats myself, both of which stay away home and enjoy long naps, empty delivery boxes on the floor, and chasing each other loudly up and down the stairs. My boyfriend has a malamute/husky almost-one year old dog, so we take her out for lots of walks and are working on training her more and more to work on her manners and other fun tricks. She enjoys the enrichment!

Information Samantha W. would like to know about your pet

If they require any additional care or special needs prior to a walk or during a visit, don't hesitate to reach out! I am also more than happy to stick to timed medications and routines if that helps them stay comfortable during your absence.

A typical day

I love to provide enrichment to your dog by interacting with them in a playful manner while also talking the time to challenge them and teach them new tricks or finesse their manners. Letting them sniff and watch a lot of things on walks is great for them as well! Ending the visit off with a nice rowdy play session to make them a little tired and ready for a nap is the perfect way to say goodbye.

I work a traditional 9-5, so I'm pretty flexible during the week to check on/walk your pet if you're out of town! Weekends are typically spent at home or around the immediate area, so I'm definitely easy to get ahold of on the weekend as well. I've been caring for pets my whole life, so I understand that it's a real commitment!
