Pet care experience
I have house sat and taken care of pets since I was 15. One of my favorite things to do is walk dogs but I also have experience in bathing, cleaning up after pets, leading animals in and out of crates, caring for senior dogs and making healthy food for my own dogs, which I would be happy to do for yours. I have also taken animals to vet appointments. Additionally, I used to work at a doggie-daycare and grew up taking care of barn cats. For a short time, I was also an influencer for a line of CBD pet products. I have also been a contributor to Pet Life Styles Magazine, as a freelance writer. I currently run a cottage food business out of my home so I am able to make my own schedule with that and, in turn, can make time for you and your pets!

I have used Sam to watch our dog many times. She is professional, prompt, courteous and loves dogs. Sam watched our puppy Hank and he is a handful. He is a big pup, part Shepard and pitbull mix. A very smart, energetic dog. Sam handles him and he loves her. She is patient with him since he isn't fully trained buy she doesn't let him get away with bad behaviors. I would highly recommend Sam for your pet sitting needs.
Samantha cared for our German Shepherd, who is a senior dig with a diagnosis of degenerative myelopathy, so he has some back leg weakness and a tendency to fall and not want to walk far. Sam did an amazing job with him. She examined him for areas of pressure injury because he now lays down much of the day and identified an area that required some antibiotic treatment. Typically, he does not take to strangers but he seemed to do well during the 4 days that Sam cared for him. She took great care of our home and left it clean and, neat with her linens washed when she left. We would definitely use Samantha again!
Samantha came to our house to sit with our dog. Samantha arrived on time. She asked questions that would help her with our dog for the two hours she was scheduled to watch her. When we arrived back home Samantha told us what she did with our dog and also told us that our dog had made a bad choice and took the tv remote. Which is something she does with us too! We were very pleased with Samantha and will definitely ask her to watch our dog again.
Out of all the pet sitters we have tried, Samantha is light years better than all of them combined!! She truly loves our dogs and walks outside with them even at 2:00 am. They sleep with her and she makes sure they get a lot of attention and affection throughout the day. Samantha never leaves a mess and, instead, she has cleaned up after other sitters when we’ve had to split our vacation into more than one sitter. Samantha has never been late or canceled on us, and we trust her with our home and our boys explicitly!! She’s a gem and we are lucky to have found her.

I currently have 2 male dogs of my own and always had dogs growing up. My eldest is 12 pounds, the other is 60 pounds. Growing up, I took care of dogs in the 80 to 95 pound range so I am seasoned in caring for dogs of different sizes. I have a fully fenced in backyard for my boys to enjoy as well as comfortable environments for them to lounge on and in. I also live in a quiet neighborhood, where I walk them everyday. I treat my dogs as if they were my own children and I can guarantee you that I will use the same care in taking care of your fur babies, as I do with my own. I currently do not offer overnight care in my own home.

As of 3/3/23 *****All rates may vary for those who live outside of a 15-mile radius of South Haven.***** As of 9/14/23 My availability for overnight stays has been set to a maximum of 3 nights. Please let me know ahead of time if your dog has any behavioral issues or if they are not leash trained. I prefer dogs within the 10 to 40-pound range but can handle dogs over 60 pounds if they are leash trained or know basic commands.
A typical day
I love spending time with animals and doing things that they enjoy. Whether it be laying on the couch with them, taking them to the dog park, or getting a pup cup, my goal is to make them happy while taking care of them. However, my favorite thing to do with dogs is to take them on walks. Walking provides me with so much stress relief and it also does that for most dogs, too, so it's a win-win situation! I know all the best and most scenic places to walk in South Haven including North Beach, Stanley Johnston Park, and the Kal Haven Trail, to name a few. I am also familiar with places to go in the Saint Joseph, Three Oaks, and Bridgman areas. When I take my dog, Ringo, on walks we walk an average of 3 to 5 miles, so if your dog likes long walks, I've got you taken care of but I can also do shorter ones, no problem. I am also part of a seasonal dog walking club in south haven, which is perfect if your pup needs some socialization.
