Hi! I'm Sam! I'm new to Rover, but an experienced dog lover, walker, and home sitter. In fact, I've lived with dogs my entire life, from my sweet Golden Retriever, Boom, to my family's current Giant Schnauzer, Maddie. While, I don't own a pup of my own yet, I frequently dog-sit for my dog nephew in Lincoln Park who's a sweet, but anxious rescue dog. Previously, I've walked an energetic Australian Shepherd in high school and a host of other dogs in college. Originally from Oak Park, I've lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Providence, Rhode Island, New York, New York, and now Chicago for over a year. During the day, I'm a fintech copywriter. I'm comfortable with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I've found that a firm, but loving approach can win over any hesitant dog. Plus, belly rubs and treats help. Still teaching your dog commands? I'd love to coax a sit and shake after a good walk. It's the simple joys :)

Sam ensured my dog’s comfort by arranging a meet and greet beforehand. She also sent updates regarding the dogs welfare and kept in contact with me throughout the day. My dog is very anxious and doesn’t like strangers, but Sam’s diligence helped me feel better about leaving Addy for the day.
Samantha is a great dog sitter - walker - friend. She is calm and patient, and dogs settle in very quickly with her as a caretaker. She has spent overnights with my Giant Schnauzer, and I couldn't recommend her more highly. She also walks my parents' hyper little dachshunds; both of the little guys love her. She follows instructions to the "T" and takes the extra time to play and lavish attention on all our dogs. She is also a great cat sitter... and she know rabbits and pocket pets as well.

Let me know about house rules (are treats okay?), walking routine (where do you keep the leash and poop bags?), food (how does pup like to eat?), and any other relevant information. No specific rules? That's fine, too! Please be as high or low maintenance as you'd like and I'll happily follow through. Our pets are precious. Trust me, I get it! No breed preferences, as I'm experienced with everything from small (Dachshund) to large breeds (Giant Schnauzer).
