Pet care experience
Hi My Name is Samantha. I am an animal Fanatic. Currently I am pursuing a degree in Electronic Engineering at Portland Community College. I am currently trying to Walk/ hang out with as many dogs as possible. I have tons of experience with all kinds of critters primarily Dogs and Cats. In High School I fostered and then re-homed a Kitten who ended up having kittens herself. I currently own a 12yr old Pitt/Australian Cattle Dog Mix and an 8 year old Norwegian Forest Cat Mix they are very sweet and my best friends so my standards for animal treatment are pretty high because I truly believe they are our family.I’ve volunteered for many shelters. I’ve also pet sat for a lot of family and friends when they’ve gone out of town. I couldn’t imagine my life not being surrounded by our animal friends.

My dog is a rescue who gets extremely anxious without me around. The fact that Samantha has volunteered at shelters sold me when reading the profile. Even though my dog is six and well behaved, I haven’t felt that I can just leave him with just anyone. Samatha connected quickly with him and read his behavior so that they could have a successful relationship. Although still a bit worried, my dog really warmed up to Samantha. Samantha met him where he was at. On top of that, communication with me before, during and after the trip was fantastic and I knew I could count on Samantha to follow through. Knowing how well this went, I feel I will be able to travel more and will definitely ask Samantha to come back.

Info I like to know about dogs ahead of time are if they have any food allergies or triggers. I also like to know how reactive they are to children , loud noises , changes in their environment.If they have any favorite toys , or if they are crate and potty trained .
A typical day
Fun activities that I do with the dogs I watch include fun training games, long walks, sometimes I’ll jog with hyperactive dogs . I love to have photo shoots and play puzzle games with them . As for fun places it really depends on the pups ability but I know of a lot of the parks throughout the city so often times there are a few that we can cruise to .

I am a full time student but other than that I have little to no other commitments. I am availaible for walks or overnight pet sitting.
