Pet care experience
I have experience working with dogs of all sizes. I have owned small, medium, and large dogs, which I provide care for with walking, grooming, feeding, and playing. I have also professionally walked medium dogs, and watched small dogs. I enjoy every aspect of caring for these animals, and I pay attention to the specific needs of each dog. I have experience raising puppies as well, including training. Caring for animals has been a passion of mine my whole life, and I am always learning new ways to care for them that specifically benefits them. I work best when given specifc instructions so I know what is best for the dog, but I am also good at picking up cues from them when they have neeeds to be fulfilled.

Samantha did just a fantastic job with my Bertie! She was very attentive and sent me plenty of updates and photos. She was an excellent guest at my condo and I would absolutely use her again!
So good with my dog! My dog loved her….he was so content with her that didn’t have to worry about leaving him home. Will be asking her to watch him again!!

I will always make sure the pets are safe and comfortable. Sticking to every aspect of the pet's daily routine as best I can is also a way I ensure their well-being. Reading the pet's body language is essential for creating a strong bond on their terms, so each interaction with the pet will be with their best interest in mind, whether that be a pet that loves snuggles, or one that is a bit more shy and would prefer some space until I earn their trust.

Your pet's routine is both important to them and to me. In order to provide the best care, I would love to know at least a general structure that they are used to, and what will be expected of me during our time together. I will be sure to communicate throughout my time caring for the pet, but any information to help make the pet happier and more comfortable would be great! No detail is too small if you'd like to provide them, I'd love to know anything from their favorite toy to their favorite treat to their favorite place outside or inside.
A typical day
I love to make sure I give pets an experience that does more than meet their needs. I will provide walks and give them their basic care as well as enrich their minds and body. This can include enrichment play tailored to each dog's needs whether it be scent work or fun games or puzzles.

Availability
I am available most weeknights excluding Monday's, and am available full-time on weekends. I may also be available for early morning drop-ins, but I do have a full-time internship during weekdays. I care for my own healthy, happy cat and dog daily, and will give the same love and care to others' pets. *While in the DC area I do not have my own car, but I do have access to a car and public transportation as needed.
