Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Samantha, and I love all things cute, small, and furry. Heck, they don't even have to be small or have fur (just cute...or maybe even so ugly they're cute). I have cared for dogs & cats most of my life and dream of one day having a big house with a big yard where I can have as many furry friends as I like (read: cat ranch). Currently an apartment dweller with cats, but love getting in as much time with canine friends whenever I can (which usually involves visiting my parents house)! I have experience dog sitting, cat sitting, and pet sitting for other various tiny animals for friends and family. In my own personal experience as a pet owner I've cared for dogs, cats, birds, fish, and frogs but I'm always happy to take care of any animal friend in need with some instruction if I'm not previously familiar with their care routine. I'm looking to turn pro to help make a little extra cash now that the Portland rental market is getting more and more expensive to live in. Have a 9-5 job in NW Industrial but have a new, reliable car and am able to travel and work remotely if needed. If you're outside of my preferred radius, please contact me for availability (as I might still be able to accommodate if the days work for my schedule). I've cared for dogs both large and small, young and senior, in good health and with chronic health issues. I have also previously volunteer at cat-only shelters and am pretty darn skilled at getting even the fussiest pets to swallow pills and sit still for shots. Excellent ball and stick thrower, happy to take doggy on walks around the neighborhood or to the local dog park. As for home sitting services, I'm happy to check mail, water plants, and provide any sort of general maintenance needed while you're away. I will do my best to leave the place cleaner than when I found it. Happy to provide references upon request.

I would like to know what your pet likes to do and doesn't like to. What are their favorite toys? What are good pets and bad pets? Any sort of movements or actions that should be avoided? Doesn't like going for walks in certain areas or certain times of day? All information that is good to know! Meeting with any potential clients and pets beforehand is a must! I will not confirm any visit before we have a chance to meet and are both in agreement that I will be the best fit for you and your pet. I'd like to talk to you and find out your expectations in a pet sitter. I'd like for us to be on the same page before being entrusted with caring for your furry family members. **Please note: I charge $10 for any extra trips after the first covered meet & greet, whether it be to get a key, meet you/your pets again, etc. Please have a key ready for me at the meet & greet. If that's not possible, please hide it outside somewhere before I arrive for the stay (which is not the preferred method). Thank you for understanding!**
A typical day
If you engage me for dog walking services, let me know what their usual route is or if they have park or any place special in the area they enjoy exploring! I'm happy to take them with me to their local dog park or go exploring in the neighborhood. I'm also an excellent thrower of balls and certified expert dog cuddle buddy. For drop-in visits I will make sure everyone gets fed, watered, has potty breaks and gets some exercise and snuggle time. Let me know their feeding & bathroom break schedule and I will follow that for you and send you updates at each visit. House sitting includes all of that and more! I will stay at your house full time so that your pet is comfortable and their routine remains as unchanged as possible. In the morning and evenings they'll probably also be treated to some light serenading by me. I will be happy to check mail, water plants, and do general house maintenance for you in your absence so you'll find the house in exactly as you left it. If you have any other questions or need special tasks tended to while I care for your pet please don't hesitate to ask. I like to thing I'm pretty dang flexible and willing to accommodate special requests!
