Pet care experience
I’m based in Crockett and divide most of my time between Martinez, Concord and Oakland. My home is a single-level house with a spacious fenced yard. I have one senior dog and two young cats. Aside from my own little misfit family of animals I foster with Oakland Animal Services last year. And in my college years (a distant lifetime ago) I worked as a kennel tech for a no-kill shelter where I learned most of my caretaking skills. I believe animals teach us so much, and in return we owe them the upmost thoughtful and kind stewardship. It’s important to me that I make every animal feel safe and understood.

Samantha is a responsible and compassionate caregiver. I observed her respectful and affectionate relationship with her dog before his passing. Samantha worked at an urban SPCA center and has a large breadth of knowledge of the both the emotional and physical needs of animals. I would trust Samantha with my pets anytime.
I've known Samantha Kauffman ever since she was born. Samantha has grown up with dogs and I can attest she loves them very much. First it was Boomer, a Sheltie, who had a mind of his own, however, Samantha was able to connect with him. Next it was Bootsie, who Samantha named, she was a black and white Welsh Cardigan Corgi who was with us for 14.5 years. Bootsie was a very intelligent, loving canine, who had a significant impact on our lives. Samantha's first dog of her own was Casey, a Pembroke Corgi, who Samantha rescued from the Richmond, VA SPCA. Casey, also extremely intelligent, was devoted to her and lived out his life in extremely capable hands. Samantha also worked at the Richmond, VA SPCA and knows first hand the plight of animals. I would highly recommend Samantha as a dog sitter for your canine family member.
