Pet care experience
Hi my name is Sam! I've been living with dogs most of my life, including high energy breeds that require a lot of attention and exercise (tollers and aussies). When my parents retired I started dog sitting for them and their retired friends while they traveled and I also dog sat with an old roommate for 2 years, regularly boarding dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages for up to 8 weeks at a time. Currently I walk my landlord's dog a couple days a week and have enjoyed the company so much I wanted to add a furry friend to my off days :)

Samantha took great care of my senior border collie mix pup. She provided quick and amazing communication throughout the stay with photos. I was able to enjoy my trip because I knew my dog was so well taken care of. I highly recommend Samantha and look forward to using her again in the future!!

We left our dog Stella with Samantha while we were traveling out of the country, and she did a wonderful job keeping us updated and sending daily pictures during Stella's stay. Stella is an active and somewhat dependent dog, and Samantha made sure to keep her needs in mind. If we were staying in Calgary longer, we would easily have Samantha as a consistent sitter; I would definitely recommend her to any pet owner!
Samantha took very good care of our senior dog. She came home happy and relaxed. 😊

I am a big proponent of respecting the owner's wishes and preferences when it comes to length or degree of walks or other activities, levels of socialization, treat intake ect. I also always keep dogs on leash unless we're in a fenced yard or you've given me permission otherwise. I want you to feel safe leaving your dog in my care, I'm open to as much or as little communication you'd like to receive (sending you pictures while they're in my care ect), I'm happy to accommodate your needs/comfort level!

Please let me know how they handle interactions with other dogs on walks, if they bark, how long they can be left alone for the occasional errand. By default I keep anything easy to grab out of reach and keep doors closed but if there's any quirks I should know about (shoe chewers, garbage divers, toilet drinkers ect) please let me know ahead of time :)
A typical day
Depending on the season/time of year I like to get out for multiple walks along the river each day :) and in the summer love to get out hiking as well, or meet up with friends at the park or on a patio for pet friendly city activities! I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, which means I'm able to be attentive to pets throughout the whole day! I also start work at 7am which means early morning risers are no issue!

Availability
I currently work from home 7-3pm and have a pretty flexible schedule. I typically go for a 4-5km walk every day on my lunch break, and another 6-8km walk after work. My evenings are typically free or include dog friendly activities (meeting a friend for drinks at a park ect).
