Pet care experience
I’ve been working with dogs, cats, and equines my entire life—as a teenager, I worked part time as a veterinary assistant; now, I am training to become a full time animal behavior consultant. While I work primarily with equines, I have in the past taken on training for both dogs and cats (yes, cats!). I have fostered puppies, kittens, and adult dogs and cats throughout my life. I love all animals and take a fear-free approach to working with them according to the latest scientific understanding of how animals learn. I am excited to meet your cat or dog and watch them while you are away!
Reviews
Samantha stayed in our house for 5 days to care for our dog and 3 cats. She was awesome she sent info and photos/videos twice daily. Would highly recommend her. Our family is very happy we met her.
Samantha did a lovely job with Mario aka Mr Anxiety. She left notes each visit on how he was doing and adapted her tasks based on brush, pet, play time needs. Would have her visit again.
Samantha was wondering. She sent me a great and very informative report on the pup's. I appreciate not having to worry about them with Samantha's daily visits and "play time" when we're away. And the pup's love her!!
Samantha is so great and professional! Thank you for your help!

Whether you need your dog played with 3x a day or your cat needs to get dreaded eye drops that it hates, I’m up to the task. Since every animal’s needs are different, I want to meet you and your pet with plenty of time to spare and work out a game plan that will best suit everyone. Sometimes pets do not feel comfortable with a routine if a new person is present, and I like to discuss backup plans so that we can ensure your pet has everything they need to be as stress-free as possible.
Information Samantha C. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if the dog needs any medications, has issues with dogs, has issues with cats, has issues with children or specific genders of adults. If any specific scenarios are difficult for your dog to handle, please let me know so I can avoid situations that would place them in these scenarios.
A typical day
I will cater to your dogs specific needs wherever possible. Do they need long walks? Or to have a dog pool in the back filled for them to play in? I like to keep to known paths for nervous dogs and introduce a new direction each walk for curious dogs.

Availability
Important Note: My house-sitting rate is for 1 hour morning/night care and 2 walks and is designed to be cheaper than a drop in. If you would like me to stay at your house overnight (+ $30/day) or you need me to stay with your animal all day (+ $100/day), please let me know when you make the booking. I accept these on a case-by-case basis. I am self-employed, and thus I am able to change my schedule to best fit most needs. Most of my pet sitting is done in the morning/evening and my normal business is during the day, but I can definitely do middle-day appointments as needed.
