Hi! I’m Sam and I’ve been a pet lover my whole life. I have two sweet pups of my own, and have extensive experience working with pets of different ages/needs. I work from home full time and have the flexibility to provide services throughout the week days as well as weekends when I’m in town.

Samantha took wonderful care of our pup! She gave him awesome care and attention, and our pup loved playing with Samantha’s pups. Our pup had been neutered a couple weeks before his stay with Samantha, and Samantha was awesome in helping him continue to heal. We highly recommend Samantha - she will treat your pups like her own! Sam went above and beyond to take care of our cats while we were away. We did not have to worry about their care at all and knew she was making them as comfortable as possible and keeping our house in even better condition than we left it!! Would absolutely recommend her services for any pet owner and will for sure be using her again.

I offer drop in visits and dog walking (and dog boarding for those that have boarded with me already before). For dog walking, I speak with the owner to learn the walking route, if the dog(s) is working on training/if there’s stuff I need to do to reinforce their learning, and will ensure the dog is hydrated and uses the bathroom as needed. For drop ins during weekdays, I have the flexibility to be able to make these visits as long or short as needed. I work from home and sometimes owners ask if I can work from their home for a few hours to provide the pets company. During these visits, I follow any typical routines the owner shares with me that the pets are used to. I’ll always make sure the pets have used the bathroom, have water (food too if it’s feeding time), and give all the snuggles.

Prior to caring for a new pet, it’s important to me to understand any behaviors or special needs they might have. I want them to be as comfortable as possible and appreciate any information about what kind of toys they like, if they like their space or are used to snuggling, and anything you as an owner feel is helpful! It is also important to me to know if your dog is highly reactive prior to me providing services. In a case such as this, I would prefer a meet and greet where the owner and I can work together to come up with successful strategies to make it possible for me to care for their pet in a way that makes them most comfortable. Lastly, it’s important for me to know how much time your pet can be left alone/how much time they’re used to someone being home with them. As a sitter, I typically enjoy spending as much time as I can with your pet as a sort of “fun babysitter” for them. During weekdays, I have the flexibility to spend multiple hours at a time at your home, but on weekends, it is typical for me to have plans sporadically during the day/evening. For my two puppies, my lifestyle works well for them and their care. All pets have different needs and I want to ensure I could meet those needs.
A typical day
I’m a huge fan of the outdoors. With my own dogs, it’s important to me to provide as many walks and as much play as I can to keep them happy. I like to walk at the parks around Wilmington and in my neighborhood. When watching your pets, I would provide them with whatever enrichment their used to, whether that’s multiple walks, lots of play, etc.

Availability
I work from home so I am very flexible during the week days. My typical schedule Monday-Friday is I worn from home 8-5 and then will use my afternoons for relaxing, walking my dogs, socializing, hobbies, etc. My two dogs are quite young and are typically crated while I work, so I am able to work from home from another house if you need someone to sit home with your pet and care for them during the day. I am also able to drop in to provide your pet with dinner in the evening and spent about one hour with them for bathroom, play, etc. During weekends, I am flexible. When providing care on the weekends, my expectation is to provide the same level of care I’m providing my own pets on the weekends. I spend a few hours each weekend day playing with my dogs, feeding them, etc., but I also will be out of the home for 4-6 hours at a time to socialize/do things for myself (sometimes the dogs are involved and sometimes not). My expectation as a sitter is to ensure I am feeding your pet properly, exercising them, ensuring they have used the bathroom, and then providing as much play time as I can.
