Hollywood Dog reTREAT
Pet care experience
Hey there! I'm a 31-year old dog lover that moved to California eight years ago. My husband and I dog-sit in our Hollywood apartment, however I am willing to travel and take care of your pets at home for a convenient and hassle-free experience. My husband currently works from home full-time and helps me take care of our guests’ dogs. He's able to provide potty breaks every few hours. I have a resident pup named Jackson, a 2 year old, neutered, 45lb. Scotch Collie. He likes being around all breeds and enjoys the company. He likes to play with toys and lounge on pillows. They both adjust quickly to guest dogs. I often like to take him to Runyon Canyon for them to socialize and exercise. I will accept last minute bookings and dogs that require special dietary or medical needs. Unfortunately, I'm unable to take care of dogs that aren't neutered or spayed, dogs that experience separation anxiety by barking, whining, or chewing, or dogs that use potty pads. It's important to me that your dog has a wonderful stay, and that you feel comfortable leaving your dog in my care. If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask. Why I love dog sitting: When I was a child, my family decided to adopt a Labrador puppy and ever since then I became a dog lover. I helped train and raise it with them. As I got older, I started volunteering at my local animal shelter for a few years and gained experience taking care of all breeds. Eight years ago, my fiancé and I adopted our dog, Buddy. We've been so blessed to have him. In November 2014, I started using Rover and have since cared for many dogs in the following months. I hope I get the chance to take care of yours! Meet Jackson: Jackson is our most recent addition to the family, our goofy year old Scotch Collie. He loves all animals and enjoys playing with his toys. He's also neutered and up to date on all his shots. About my yard: I do not have my own yard, however there is a patio behind my apartment for relaxing. I like to take my dog to Runyon Canyon. My experience administering medication: My dog used to take liquid medication for a hormonal imbalance and a pill for a thyroid condition. I am comfortable administering oral medication, however I don't think I would be able to do injections. What to bring: Please bring anything and everything that will make your pup's stay the most comfortable. You are welcome to bring your dog's bed, toys, doggy bags, treats, and some extra food (too much is better than not enough!).
Reviews
Very conscientious and trustworthy sitter. I recommend her!
Samanta always does an amazing job with Tucker when he stays. He is always happy and has a great stay with her. Samantha sends pictures consistently and is very prompt with responses.
We can always count on Sam to take care of our babies! She’s kind, professional and punctual. Wouldn’t trust anyone else! ?
Samantha is the best dog-sitter I've ever left Toaster with! She sends photo updates, and communicates so well! He gets so excited to see her! I almost wish I took more vacations so he could get to see her.

We will stick to the routines that your pup is used to, but typically we go out at least three times a day along with feedings twice a day. Maybe some treats along the way as well!

Information Samantha A. would like to know about your pet
Before taking care of your pup, I'd like to know if they require any medication, experience separation anxiety, how well they get along with other dogs, and if they have any special dietary needs.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks: I tend to stick to the blocks around my home, however some days when I have the time I like to walk Buddy and Jackson around Silverlake so we can stop at the dog park while we are there. Your dog's sleeping arrangement If your dog has a bed at home, I would prefer that you bring it so that he/she is able to feel more comfortable, however he/she is welcome to sleep wherever they'd like. Time I'll spend with your dog It depends. I have a part-time job, so some days I'll be able to give 100% time and attention, but on the days I work, I'll only be available in the morning and in the evening. But, my boyfriend has a flexible job, so if I need to be away for more than four hours, he can easily check up on the dog(s).
