Pet care experience
I have always had an unexplainable connection with the animals in my life and started working professionally with dogs in 2018. I have been volunteering/working at a doggy daycare since 2018. I've volunteered at two different rescues and have been petsitting/walking since 2021. I am also certified in canine first aid. While I am not certified I am passionate and knowledgeable about dog and cat training and am currently shadowing under a force free trainer. I am especially interested in working with anxious, fearful or reactive dogs in the future and I aspire to be heavily involved in animal rescue work.

Sam is fantastic with our 2 year old Golden Retriever Gilligan. We have had Sam visit for many shorter visits and have even had a weekend away. We never had a doubt or a worry about our pup. We are also planning a big multi week trip this summer and we are so glad we can sleep easy overseas knowing Gilligan is in safe hands while we’re gone!
I couldn't recommend Sam more highly! He is fantastic with pets. My dog absolutely loves him and we think of Sam as part of our family. I travel often and Sam will house sit and dog sit at the same time, which provides huge relief. My house always looks great when I return. There have been times I had to leave while my dog wasn't feeling well and Sam made him special food to ease his stomach. Sam has also picked my dog up to deliver him to and from doggie daycare on days when I had to work late. He is amazing! Sam loves my dog like it is his own and I trust him 100%.

I am extremely flexible with how I care for the animals I'm trusted with and cater my services to match their regular schedule as closely as possible. I like to provide lots of enrichment in between walks and love doing training to get their brains working. I am very open about how I care for animals and always able to answer questions. I care deeply for all the animals I watch and love them as if they were my own.

A typical day
I do my best to adjust my schedule and care to match the animals normal schedule to avoid any extra unnecessary stress. Therefore my days look different for every house but in general my days involve at least one walk for the dogs of the house, training, and of course lots of snuggles. I love to do field trips with the dogs and go for long walks in new areas.

Availability
I work part time, but always make lots of time for my animals and the animals in my care. Unfortunately I'm not able to provide 24/7 care at the moment and do require animals to be able to be alone at least six hours at a time.
